Lost in Translation是Sofia Coppola编剧指导的小成本电影，获2003年奥斯卡最佳剧本奖。电影讲述的是两个美国人在日本东京相遇的简单故事：50多岁曾经辉煌但日渐星光黯淡的男影星前往东京拍广告，偶遇陪伴记者丈夫在东京采访的20多岁蜷缩在婚姻中却备感空虚的少妇。他们虽然处在各自不同的生命阶段，却都有着对现实的无奈，迷惘与失望，在潜意识里渴望着心灵的慰籍。有人说这是一个关于灵魂相遇的爱情故事，我觉得其实用李健《传奇》中的一句歌词就可以概括“只因为在人群中多看了你一眼”。
这样一部关于探讨精神世界，情感变化而少言寡语的影片，能够恰如其分地表现人物心情的电影配乐就显得尤为重要。不得不说Sofia Coppola的音乐选择是略有奇异色彩的独特，令人心动。
