I am wondering if someone with some publications on prestigious journals (
say, PRL in physics, JACS in chemistry, Cell, PNAS in Biololgy) attract more
eyeballs in application, assuming the publications are in a not-so-hot
field and is not what he is proposing to do.
Any comments?

1. ceiling fan/light rough-in, $395

“Eyeballs? no wonder I felt being watched whole day!" :)

Nature
http://www.nature.com/news/the-myopia-boom-1.17120
Researchers have consistently documented a strong association between
measures of education and the prevalence of myopia. In the 1990s, for
example, they found that teenage boys in Israel who attended schools known
as Yeshivas (where they spe...

It is funny that the article compares the founder of tumblr to Steve Jobs.
IMHO, Steve was quite different. Steve was a shrewd businessman and made
