百万几千万的funding，一边是学校里面各种可有可无的seminar照开不误。其中有一个
seminar是为环保与人文学科而设置的。为了充分体现美国学术体制里的民主精神，此
seminar里集中了各个与人文学科打擦边球的博士生，environmental science的，
landscape architecture, architecture design, sociology, cultural geography,
communication, political science, anthropology, philosophy，就连我的导师也不
知拖了哪一门关系把我塞了进去，混了两个学期的fellowship。
不难想象这么多不同学科的人开起seminar来就像建巴比伦塔的人说互相听不懂的语言
一样。量化研究的在心里诋毁qualitative research，理论学派诋毁实验学派的肤浅，
这个说那个研究框架是不充分无价值的，等等不一而足。总之这一年我非常乖。反正抿

退场那个去看了pixar的incredibles，看完哭了，说动画片居然也能这么好看
（incredibles确实不错）
sincity是graphic novel么，就得拿target audience的标准来判断，不可能指望每个
人都喜欢 |

上的评价不错；但是说是Engineered for Artistry。D40和D3000都是Incredible
Pictures，Incredibly Easy。D5000是Smart Sharp，simply brilliant。
纠结不知道哪一款性价比好。他们有什么区别？
如果是平时旅游hiking时拍拍，是不是没什么区别？什么lens比较好？

貓和我的因緣
2000年, 我家老二新婚, 小夫妻買了兩隻喜馬拉亞種出生才14天的小貓. 一隻取名"
Bluey", 一隻"Joey". 姐妹倆, 可愛極了. 沒幾年, 老二的兩個孩子相繼出世. 夫妻倆
為了孩子們, 忙得不可開交. 沒時間去照顧兩隻貓. 長得滿滿的長毛沒人剪. 只見一團
毛, 不見貓. 我看她們太可憐了. 就領了回家. 我細心照顧它們. 她們都懂我說的. 和
我生活了六年. 現在快十五歲了. 按人壽來算, 7x15, 她們相當一百零五歲了. 我一直

我还觉得Moto这个CEO还挺有两下子。Droid的广告词也挺catchy，什么“Droid Does”。
还来个专用网站droiddoes.com
结果刚到一月份，Google就搞出个自己的N1 “Superphone”，把Moto始乱终弃一把。
没过俩月Verizon又开始给HTC的Droid incredible大做广告。我在收音机里听到
广告，最后说请上网droiddoes.com/incredible查看详情。
我寻思明明是HTC的手机，怎么也叫Droid，连网站都一样。一search才发现原来Droid
根本不是Moto的trademark，是Verizon的！Moto搞了半天，操作系统不是自己的，
连名字都不是自己的，整个是在被Google和Verizon轮奸。他家这个CEO也不知道
是怎么当的，根本就不会做生意啊。 |

Apple held its Q3 2012 financial results conference call this evening. We
have posted a full transcript of the call.
From the call, Apple discusses their expectations for the next quarter which
runs through July, August and September. In particular, Apple CFO Peter
Oppenheimer expects gross margins to decline in the next quarter due to a "
