买了新的thinkpad t440s with windows 8，老是时不时的触摸板没反应，我找到一个
办法就是uninstall synaptics pointing driver随后重启，再launch lenovo
solution center的software update重装一下这个synaptics pointing driver。
最近出了个问题，我在卸载的时候不小心卸载了另一个synaptics的driver，这个
program里面好像有个词WBD，记不太清了。但问题来了，之后我再卸载synaptics
pointing driver就不行了，弹出个场口说:

来做talk的大牛甚至说是最好的，至少之一吧），但最近也没有听到身边谁的工作很
exciting了。大家运气好的能在nat neurosci和neuron上灌水，运气不好就是JN或者更
低了。感觉即使大多只是在修补以前的条条框框，或者用新方法（2P）证实以前的老理
论。
跟国内的几个好点的地方的人聊聊，大家感觉这个领域太老了，他们都不favor这个领
域，说最好能跟网络，疾病什么的扯上关系。看来只能呆在美国了。

发帖数: 204 | 15 In vivo是做得很少，且已有的结果局限在少数几个区域。最近calyx上也做了好几篇，
虽然不是CNS，但也很有启发，比如知道了很多in vitro的一些现象为什么和in vivo不
一样，找出原因然后在in vitro上能重复。但总的来说，在Synaptic transmission层
面，in vivo也就是重复in vitro的实验，然后反过来改进in vitro的一些理论。感觉
整个过程大体就那样了。 |

喜欢学术，但是由于各种原因我们这行靠谱的学术职位越来越少了。所以就想找个工业
界的实习做一下，一方面是了解，另一方面也是为以后工作做准备。
现在有两个几乎完全不沾边的暑假实习offer，一个是synaptics的architecture组，在
San Jose，应该是做一些软硬结合偏硬件的研发工作；另一个QRI group的innovation
组，在休斯顿，是一个比较小的做油田管理的公司，我去了应该是做PDE方面的数值和
解析工作。
我对数学软件硬件都非常感兴趣，自己也说不出来更喜欢哪个...
从公司来讲，synaptics名气大很多，目前发展前景好（竞争也比较激烈），地理位置
不错，据说企业文化也不错，不过工资在湾区好的公司里是中等偏下的。
QRI group要小很多，具体规模不清楚（大概100-200人？），公司创建比较晚（2007）
，不过由于是老板很牛，又从各个石油公司搬了不少老人，公司比起一般startup来是

我唯一能指出的是，陈和她前夫博士后的时候不在同一个实验室。陈做的stargazin 的
研究以及后来围绕那个题材发的一系列文章都与她的前夫无关。这些都是有资可查的。
而陈的成名，恰恰就是由于对stargazin 的一系列的研究。

有些功能错过那个window，就再也无法补上了。
比如语言，有几个黄金window。
大脑的发育是需要环境的信息回馈的。所谓经验雕刻大脑。Brain's synaptic pruning
专业的词语。
越小这个能力越强，就是强化一种特定功能。
比如视觉，一个经典实验是小猫眼睛被遮住，过了最初的视觉发育关键时期，再打开，
他也不会有正常的视觉。因为那个关键的 synaptic pruning阶段错过了。就是持续同
步fire的神经突触被保留，其他的凋亡，就好像一开始布了超量的wire,然后根据功能
，哪些碰巧连接的比较好可以及时和其他神经同步激活，存活下来，其他不能正常
function的自杀了，最后就是强化的signal noise ratio。
婴儿的视力是慢慢发育的。刚开始其实就是大近视眼，只能感光，什么都是模糊的，每
天睁眼接受光线刺激，这个synaptic pruning慢慢完成了，视力才越来越sharp.
这个，其实宗教也是这样的，接触什么教多了，practice 这个教多了，你的大脑也就
被塑化到对这个教敏感了，相关的“宗教体验”也就产生了。 |

synaptics，以前ibm笔记本上用过的那种，现在被三星买了，另外一家就是被Apple买
了的。技术上Apple买的那家完爆了synpatics，因为有很好的图像匹配技术，所以支持
各种手指姿势。synaptics就只能支持垂直的。
很好奇楼主这个实用性完爆是怎么一个爆法？

比如，是否可以找到触摸板硬件的driver, 需要时候就加载驱动insmod driver，而不需要的时候就卸载驱动rmmod driver? 如何在Ubuntu 9.04下面实施卸载或者关闭触摸板的驱动呢？或者还有更好的办法吗？
首先，如何找到触摸板的驱动软件呢？包子感谢。

宜点的就是台湾系(e.g., Wintek)。我感觉Synaptics做这行没啥前途的。
那个Corning有点意思，触摸屏的玻璃他有做。做屏的厂商要采购玻璃。

周四股票稳步推进，因为假日而交易时间缩短的一周就这样结束了。
周四纳指上涨0.6%，标普指数和道指各涨0.5%。IBD50涨0.5%。
由于交易时间提早结束，又是7月4日假期前夕，所以周四成交量较低，。在东部时间下
午1点的时候，纽约交易所的交易量突然高涨，但低于纳斯达克交易所。市场将于周一
重新开放。
周四的突破很少，但节前股市就是这样，这并不奇怪。然而上一周也鲜见突破。
最新的突破的5%的区域有些零散的买入。
但这样的股市操作并不一定是坏事。有些个股需要一段时间才能发现它们的吸引力。然
而最好的上升趋势是很多股票都快速进入买入区域。
如果过去几周里错失好的操作，这也算不上很夸张的失败。
个人投资者应努力减少损失——你不必等到股票跌到你买入价位的8%后才卖出。 （8%
的损失应该是你最亏损的底线）
如果一只股票已经有了不错的涨幅，并有可能进入下跌状态，那么卖出获利是谨慎的。

2013年诺贝尔医学和生理学奖得主Thomas Südhof将莅临10月1日中国科大硅谷科技峰
会。7月14日，Südhof欣然接受中国科大新创校友基金会与硅谷科技峰会筹委会邀请，
将出席峰会。Thomas Südhof教授将做主题演讲。演讲主题正与硅谷科技峰会与新创基
金会团队沟通中。
Thomas Sudhof教授夫人陈路（同为斯坦福大学医学院教授，麦克阿瑟天才奖获得者）
是科大898校友。他表示感谢中国科大给予陈路教授的培养，并乐意支持中国科大（ I

这里是一片用醋酸铊做体外神经－肌肉萎缩实验的文章。作者报道1mM到5uM的醋酸铊溶
液在体外处理大鼠神经－隔肌40分钟，即可导致细胞不可逆性功能丧失，
醋酸铊分子量263.43g/mole, 1mM到5uM相当于300mg/L到1.3mg/L。4磅暖水瓶容量1.8L
(google到的），那么2.4mg到540mg的量都可能导致症状出现。如果不是加在暖水瓶而
是喝水杯子的话，所需质量应该更少。
醋酸铊溶于水。鉴于下面所引文章可以用到1mM的工作浓度，按照一般实验室的经验，
储液浓度应该在100到1000倍，即100mM到1000mM，相当于30g/L到300g/L。这样，从
1000mM溶液取8uL到1.8mL，就能使暖瓶中醋酸铊的量达到2.4mg到540mg；从100mM液取
80uL到18mL，可以达到同样效果。
所以，使用铊盐溶液，同样可以达成目的。
