I went to a kaffeeklatch (yes, I did have to look up how to spell it) with
Tim Powers at the Worldcon in San Antonio. He said, if memory serves
correctly, that he had managed to include references to his two previous
books, Last Call and Expiration Date, in Earthquake weather. This is an
understatement on the level of "Yes, Lazarus is feeling a bit better now."

14年来，整个苹果产品系列，无一不是靠外形取胜。当然，不排除左手ctrl + 右手
mouse也是一个非常吸引人的feature。短短14年，苹果不但死里逃生，还靠着富士康这
样的血汗工厂，榨出最后一滴利润，成为市值第一的公司。苹果就象是永不沉没的
titanic，船上的乘客船员，看尽无限风光。
唯一的问题是，when will it hit that iceberg?

The New York Times reports on Apple CEO Tim Cook's presence at the annual
Allen & Co. media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, noting that he is easily
earning the title of "Mr. Popular" due to Apple's rare presence at the event.

Jimmy Craig，在当地一家Tim Hortons咖啡店(位于St. Stephen路附近)三次抱怨说脱咖啡因咖啡煮的太厉害后被终身拒绝再来此店，除非是作为紧急救护人员才能进入。
Craig称，当时咖啡像烧糊了一样，颜色都变成了深棕色，让人感到恶心。随即Craig向咖啡店经理和该连锁店办公室进行了投诉，之后便见到了店主Edwin Dow。谁知，Dow竟递给他一封拒绝入内书——在《非法侵入法》(trespass act)下。
Craig说，“我竟然被拒绝再入内。我只是想告诉并提醒他们，他们的咖啡有问题。而他们竟然拒绝我再入内，难道顾客不总是对的吗?”
而Dow解释称，为了满足Craig的要求，店员甚至给他重新煮了一壶咖啡，而Craig的一再抱怨实在是令店员们感到苦恼，而他也烦透了Craig的投诉，所以才发出了“禁令”。

发帖数: 5892 | 10 周二，在安省Wallaceburg的一家Tim Hortons“得来速”(drive-thru) 汽车餐厅售窗口前，一名73岁老汉头部被卡在汽车门和一根黄色的柱子间差点丧命。
Chatham-Kent警方称，当时老汉在售窗口前不小心掉了东西，于是倒车并打开车门弯腰拾捡。但是，当他的身体刚露出汽车时汽车又向后倒行了，老汉头部和颈部被卡在车门和售窗口的柱子间。
在该汽车餐厅排队购买食物的其他人立刻跳出自己的汽车去熄灭老汉的汽车，但是他们没能将老汉救出。
警方称，当紧急救护人员赶到现场时，老汉似乎已经死了，但是医院工作者最终恢复了他的生命迹象。

公司23日公布了去年四季度的财报。公司四季度实现利润3亿7710万元，即每股2.19元，主要是出售在Maidstone Bakeries的股份增加了公司的利润。公司一年前盈利只有9100万元，即每股51分。
蒂姆赫顿出售了Maidstone中50%的股份，获得税前收益3亿6100万元。Maidstone是家瑞士糕点公司。蒂姆赫顿的销售收入从前年四季度的4亿6460万元下降到去年四季度的4亿3700万元。

是2025年左右。根据是美国历史上每八十年一场大战，从独立战争，内战，到二战，下
一个时间点大约是2025年。这又和"the fourth turning"的时间点暗合，和桥水的Ray
Dalio的long term debt cycle契合。导火索估计和台湾有关，不是2020，就是2024，
