candidates from Big 4 in Auditing? |
s*******y 发帖数: 168 | 3 don't see too much value in it. When you need to push client to get supports
, they start showing atitude.
Someone who is a team player. who is a hardworker and don't mind overtime.
who has a posistive attitude and also willing to take more:) |
y***o 发帖数: 136 | 4 Thank you very much for the input, it is very helpful.
It seems that selecting the right direction is more imporatnt than simply
being accepted by big4?
So internal transfer is not easy at all?
I have an interview with Deloitte on campus tomorrow for a full-time job,
they have an auditing postion open next year, should I say I prefer
financial advisor or consulting than tax or auditing?
I passed CPA and have math/statistics background, which should be more
useful in the first two.

r*****h 发帖数: 176 | 6 Most of the people who join big4 won't stay in big4 forever.(Except for
those who have STRONG DESIRE to be, and have the capability and enough luck
to be, a partner.) So at some point you will have to re-consider your career
path and maybe jump out of big 4 to other industry.

s*******y 发帖数: 168 | 8 Just my opinion, if you have math/statistics background, consulting might be
better for you than audit or tax. Plus, i would think starting salary for
your major would be higher than accounting if you are in consulting. I haven
't started internal transfer yet. It's busy season. Got so much too do. I
just want to do a bit research and have at least a bit knowledge about what
is out there and what might be my best interest before talking to them.Good
luck to your interview!

B*********u 发帖数: 75 | 11 Honestly, not sure if you are ready for the switch if you feel " don't see
too much value in it. When you need to push client to get supports, they
start showing attitude". Above all the actual work, consulting/advisory
project is all about client relationship management (client push-back is
nothing but the norm)- unless you referred the non-client facing back-end
office support as consulting.
my two cents./
supports
overtime.

p**z 发帖数: 1311 | 13 a manager that i used to work for switched to consulting (more like helping
the client to get ready for FAS 157 2 years ago).
So according to him, his service was much more valued by the client, and they
listened to his suggestions.
whereas the auditors are there to just do their work and slap an opinion on
the financial.
so i guess at the end of the day, i don't see a lot of value added service
provided by the auditors and maybe consultants actually do something good to
the company? no? |
