L-3 is seeking a Senior General Accountant for our Crestview, FL facility.
The Sr. General Accountant:
• Maintains or oversees the maintenance of accounts and records in
such areas such as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare reports, make
general ledger entries, and review/verify accuracy of journal entries
• Prepares income and balance sheet statements, profit and loss
statements, consolidated statements, and other accounting statements and
reports
• May design, modify, install, and/or maintain general accounting
systems to provide records of assets, liabilities and financial transactions
• Performs general accounting duties including, but not limited to,
general ledger and cost accounting
• Evaluates general ledger accounts for errors and omissions, and
enters corrected data into the Vantage system
• Performs all tasks associated with the general ledger (monthly
journal entries, monthly closing journal entries, account reconciliation)
• Assists in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures
• Assists internal and external auditors
• Maintains fixed asset records and control; determines depreciation
terms/rates to apply to capitalized items; prepares property tax returns for
review by the Accounting Manager
• CPA, MBA and/or CIA a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years relevant experience
• Must have Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must have working knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and
procedures, GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required
