的确羽毛球跟别的球类太不一样了，网球，乒乓球，排球，篮球都是圆的，最次橄榄球
也是个椭圆的。对照英文，好像羽毛梭或梭鸟更原味。但规则还是球类运动的，羽毛球
是意译更好的选择，羽毛球是“伪”球一个。毽球也类似。 | S**U

My guess is any sports that uses a projectile with round cross-section can be called “球”in Chinese. It is almost always the case, as the shape is
fully symmetric in 2 dimensions and somewhat aerodynamically stable (when spinning around the axis), making it more playable.
In contrast, a dart doesn't have a round cross-section, and can't be easily played back and forth between two sides. Darting is not called “球”in Chinese. |
