this racing season. So I start to
looking for bikes now. I'm a light guy, so I'll emphasize the weight over
the stiffness of the bike. Here are two
bikes I'm particularly interested in,
cannondale super6 3

Do you guys have any inputs about these two bikes?
In particular, have you used these wheelsets? I've no idea about the Fulcrum
Racing 6 used on specialized bike,
it seems it's the specialized OEM wheelset. Anyone has any experience on it?

Cat3 in general. And I'm 126lb, 168cm (65.7inches), not a good sprinter, but
relatively good on climbing. In terms of budget, I think $3000 on bike.

发帖数: 1498 | 5 Instead of buying a whole bike with stock wheels and seats, I think you're
better off upgrading a few critical parts:
(1) a set of light, aero wheels, something like Reynolds assault (1-1.5k)
(2) a light carbon frame (1k)
(3) other components that can give you significant weight savings: fork,
brake calipers, seat tube, seat, and crankset (0.5k)
This way you'll end up with a bike that is much better and race-worthy than
a stock Cannondale or Specialized.

money and I don't want to lose 3k like that. if I can't win a race, I doubt
an expensive bike is gonna help me that much. nonetheless, I don't think it
's worth it.
but I can justify training on a good durable carbon frame because I spend 99
% of my riding training, not racing. and a good carbon frame is more
comfortable and rewarding than a good Alu frame, which I think is a perfect

cat都有crash, 好车经不起摔啊。
不过不管怎么样，得先搞一个好一点的车。自己build太花时间了，还是先看看吧

any good LBS you recommend? I'll be there (east bay) doing an internship this
summer.
Also, is there any shops providing good fitting service (such as BG, Serotta
personal fit, etc.)
And any good group I can hang out to get familiar with the route?

发帖数: 1992 | 14 yes I am. Many good LBS here in SF. When you are here, you'll know.
We have a group of Chinese people here doing group rides in the weekends but
we are "recreational", i.e.,
slow-medium pace and frequent regrouping. If you are a cat3, you need to
find a fast group to ride with.
Check out Cal's cycling team schedule and you can probably hook up with them
. I've heard a number of
"hammerfest" group rides in east bay in the summer evenings and one of them
is Berkeley hill repeats at
Tuesday nights.
If you are a climber, you are going to love the bay area.

California this summer, so buying a discounted bike and shipping there, and
assembling it will be even more expensive than buying a no-discounted one
directly at California.
This is also why I "desperately" wonder any recommendation of SF LBS. :D | h*****a

As for LBS, I don't have much first hand experience. But I have heard a few
good ones (not very cheap though): Soaring Mouse Cycles in SF, Robinson
Wheel Works in San Leandro, Mikes' Bikes (multiple locations). Check their
website for more info.

once, it's cheaper.
