答是：
You need a job offer during the visa interview to show your continuing
contribution to the national interest of the U.S., but this job offer
requirement is actually quite flexible, even an unpaid research position
should be counted.
This letter could be from a potential employer (it is not necessary for you
to actually work for them after coming back to the U.S. The key is to prove
that your future job function will be in the similar field when you apply
for NIW.
Nothing can be guaranteed, but there is good chance that you will pass the
interview with a job offer. I have several clients who successfully obtained
green card through consular processing.
也有的律师说 job offer letter 不是必要的。这版上有人说过。
只能自己判断。
