I had campus interview in the Univ.A about half year ago. After that, there
is no response from A (except they request recommendation letters from my
references a few months ago). Couple of days ago, I found that the position
was re-posted. Then I sent an email to ask about the situation. They told me
that the search committee decided a 3-candidate list (and I was on the list
) and eventually made offers to 2 candidates (whites). It seems that I was
removed from the list during |

发帖数: 422 | 2 I think you can re-apply. But it is not appropriate to ask them why they did
not give you an offer. I believe they considered you unqualified after that
campus visit. So, you may not get anything from them in this year's
application.

些特殊情况, 比如position delay到下一年, 否则我不会去re-apply相同的地方. |

发帖数: 3259 | 6 我觉得外在因素比如你不是白人，不是米国的phd,这些因素在请你去visit之前他们都
知道了，所以我觉得不会是拒你的因素，估计是interaction或是presentation上出了
问题。campus visit很subtle，也许就是吃饭叭嗒嘴，或是没有给足某个小心眼的
senior面子，都有可能被一票否决。现在只能是move on，再想想presentation方面或
是与人交往方面有什么可以改进的地方。多想想自身的不足，也便于自我提升，那些外
在的东西，比如不是白人，不是美国phd，不是牛校毕业，老板不是牛人，不是女的，
不是热门专业，想得再多也没法改变了。另外学校排名和interview的难度也没特别大
的关系，有些小学校还就是mean人多，没办法，所以做不大。

I have re-applied it any way, because I don't have any other offer yet. most
likely I will get a rejection eventually (technically, I have not been
rejected by them yet) but I don't care. |
