发帖数: 1478 | 6 Well, I had the similar experience two months ago, when they said they just
wanted to have a chat with me. But later I understand it was actually a
phone interview. I thought it was nothing important at that time, but he
asked me a lot about my research and future plan. It was only 25 min, and
two weeks later they said they found other candidates fit better.
If I had known that it was a phone interview, I may have had a better
preparation. But how knows, maybe it is true that I just don't fit.

I only have one day means that I got the notice yesterday but had to have
this phone conversation with them today.
The main reason that I wanted to know people's thoughts is that I can't
fully focus on this phone interview since there are all kinds of things
bothering me in the lab. And if I don't know the underlying meaning of this
phone call, I had no idea how to prepare for it.
Anyway, I just finished the phone call and it's actually

very strong on paper, but was a horrible speaker. After the talk, some
faculty even tried to cancel their meetings with candidate, because it was
not worth their time.
Now, before interviewing, we gave a quick phone call to check their english
and then decide if this candidate worth a on site.
