我觉得teaching职位其实很自由啊，教完课就可以走人。夏天随便干啥，这不，去
colorado度度假，灵感就来了。
To take a break, Zhang visited a friend in Colorado last summer. There, on
July 3, during a half-hour lull in his friend’s backyard before leaving for
a concert, the solution suddenly came to him. “I immediately realized that
it would work,” he said.
ratemyprofessors.com上学生们对老张的评分很高，不过说：
“He's not nice outside of class”
“Not very nice outside of class, but hilarious inside class.”
“he seems wicked nice during lecture but is actually kinda mean one on one”
"In class he is a great lecturer. However, outside of class he isnt very
helpful at all and is actually quite rude (he closed the door on my face
once when I was in line for getting help because his office hours had JUST
closed...) "
说明老张完成工作游刃有余，教完课可以不甩学生，关起门来做学问，也没funding压
力，其实搞数学还是很好的，再加上他北大数院年级第一的天赋和坚忍不拔的毅力，其
成功真是偶然中的必然。 | s**********n

不评tenure了，给我变成lecturer吧。

其实老张就是少林寺的扫地老僧。
什么北乔峰，南慕容，少林方丈这些江湖地位对他来说都是浮云，都是小屁孩玩的。

就是工资稍低一些
不过,research不active的associate professor工资也不会高多少
非常多的lecturer都是一直干到退休
甚至,我还见过老lecturer直接拿天牛做associate professor | g******t
