First NSF funded proposal -- forgive me for the naive question:
There's a "Materials and supplies" item in the budget. Can I use this amount
to get a desktop computer to replace my 5-year-old computer? What else can
be budgeted to this item?

NSF基本没可能买电脑，除非是实验仪器的需要。
好像所有的federal grant都不能买了。
