复。但是B校更好一些。
B校说今年招两个人，而我是两个被邀请月底second visit的其中之一。B校也要了LD的
CV说帮忙找工作，还安排在second visit的时候去见当地realtor看房子。
我已经告知B校，说明我在A校拿到的offer/deadline。 B校的scc建议我联系A校要求延
长deadline。 现在请问大家，如何说才能让A校延长他们的deadline? |

或许应该提一下我LD也在找工作。 我们需要花些时间。。。

to next candidate，因为他们知道你不可能来的。

他们的眼光不错，挑选的人很hot，值得多等待两个星期。

Thank you for the offer, and I was wondering whether the deadline of
the offer could be extended by two weeks because I had already scheduled
a second visit to school B by the end of this month. I'd prefer to make
a final decision after that. So I'd greatly appreciate it if you could
honor my request.

risky for them to wait. But I have to ask. In the worst scenario, they just
keep the old deadline and not extend it.

expedite the process in school B.
If the school A declines your request, as mentioned above, it may be mean;
similarly, if the school B declines your reasonable request, you may want to
question how serious they are interested in you. They may invite two for the
second visit and only extend one offer.
Bottom line: do not trade a written offer with a possibility. |

Dear Dr. XXX,
Thank you very much for your efforts to put together a generous offer, and I
am really excited about the possibility of joining the faculty at XXX.
I do have one question regarding the COMPENSATION: “All benefits ....”
To my understanding, .... Could you please clarify?
While I am seriously considering the offer, I kindly request that the
deadline be extended to June 14 as I have a pre-arranged visit scheduled at
another university. It would be great if I can make a final decision after
that.

发帖数: 195 | 15 您误会了。 这是和A校谈让他们延长我的offer的deadline。在拿到A校offer letter之
前我和chair已经大致谈过了工资和启动基金。A校的chair在等我一周内签字。我想再
拖两周，因为下周是B校的second visit.而B校更好些。 |
