I sincerely apologize for ruining your reputation. I failed
to quote accurately. What you said was: "play for the title".
Everybody can see the huge difference between "play for the
title" and "play for championships". Every team should play
for the title like Eli does! 0-5? So what, there is always
hope!

OK, 原文是关于在NFL，不像在NCAA,
人为的或计算机的排名并不重要，我说：
"This is not college. Ranking/voting means nothing.
You play for the title."
从头到尾没有提到巨人啊.
这个"You"， 是任何一个想夺冠的队伍.
NFL任何队的title, 确实都是一场一场打出来，
而不是被投票送进去打， 所以楼主提的什么排名确实就是没有什么意义。
哦， 我知道你会说， 我的原意,
就是巨人(而不是其他任何队)，
就在今年(而不是以后)，
就是要play for the title(而不是其他目标).
现在不过是在改口狡辩.

I meant "In the NFL, your team -- or any team -- play for the title on the
field
instead of being sent in by ranking/voting outside the lines, as in college"
I have nothing more to add to that.
