the following reply. I am so frustrated because I have spent tons of days
and nights to help review more than a dozen manuscript for this journal.
What do I do now? Can anyone share me an email template for requesting this
letter. thanks a lot!
Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, as a matter of policy we cannot
provide letters of support for US visa applications. Our only contact with
you has been as a reviewer, and we therefore cannot comment truthfully as to
the significance of your research achievements. As for your activity as a
manuscript referee, as your attorney can tell you, it is very clearly stated
on the USCIS website and in numerous decisions of the Administrative
Appeals Office that such an activity is not considered evidence of
excellence as required for the any of the visa classes, since it is viewed
as an expected activity of any scientist. | c**k

发帖数: 8870 | 5 thanks all for your kind replies. I know i use the thank you letters as the
confirmation letters. But that's not the purpose for me to get this letter.
I think the letter might not only state how many manuscripts I have reviewed
for the journal but also state that they have a high standard for the
selection of reviewers and how good are my review works. Is this too much?
but I saw a lot of other people here who shared their experience after their
cases were improved all mentioned like this.
any more suggestions or comments are more than welcome and appreciated. | m******9

I have requested the verification letters from the EICs, and most people
are very friendly and helpful. There's one professor who needed to check
my CV, but that's about it, and he agreed finally.
I think that this person is mean to say that reviewing is every
scientist's responsibility. He's taking your efforts, expertise and free
time for granted. I feel for you. Well, it's not the time to let him see
the right or wrong, or make him be nicer.
If I were you, I'd send out emails to the ones who directly assigned you
the review tasks, or some associate editors who are more in your field.
I don't believe that it's a policy that this journal never provides such
a letter. Also, the verification letter can be printed either with the
journal's letterhead or that writer's university/company's letterhead,
and others might be able to help even if this journal had that so-called
policy. You have reviewed so many manuscripts for them, and you deserve
and will get a letter from some other editors.

Not enough like this. There should be a list of manuscripts that you have
reviewed.
Yes. Every manuscript counts as 1. I heard that the revisions don't count.
Well, I see people list the number of papers and number of review times, so
that both are shown. Whatever number the IO wants to use, let him/her choose.
No need.
Just the invitation and thank-you emails.

做也没啥错。
如果他不是给你发评审邀请信的人，那就找那个人试试。

联系的可能是副主编，所以找副主编提供这样的信息，信不一定写给移民局，就to

asked for help here. I used the strategy that TrueStory mentioned above and it worked. they actually have a template and have sent out many letter for reviewers. so what the EIC said is completely nonsense. If they cannot comment the significance of the referee's research achievements, they should not ask s/he review for the journal. the reviewer should be an expert in the field. at least, that is what i believe.and I think you will not be happy if your manuscript is reviewed by someone who is not an expert in your field. So if anyone has similar problem, please just try to ask the person who invite you the most. For me, there were there assistant editors asked me to review for the journal and all of them were from China but the journal is actually based at Europe.i was kind of hesitating about the title of assistant editors and the inconstancy for the location of the journal. the letter but it turned out that the letter was signed by the managing editor from Europe. similar problem, please just try to ask the person who invite you the

they may help other ppl who have similar problems. what made me feel the
worst at that time was the last sentence of the email that the EIC wrote.i
would not felt that bad if he just turned down by saying that he did not
know me well... mean ppl are everywhere, nice ppl are everywhere too. we
just need to be lucky. thanks again.
