G: NYC top finance company，quant associate，已经发了offer，还有几个group可以
让我选。
F: Bay area internet company，SDE，去了他们的onsite，还要和manager follow up
一轮。
之所以急着问是因为估计G的offer不能等很久，等我和F谈完了，offer拿到手了，基本
就要马上答复G了．
先来说说我的情况吧，fresh cs phd，感觉first job还是很重要的，所谓女怕嫁错郎，
男怕入错行。。。对于我来说，F vs G的优劣如下：
1) Interest. 个人比较喜欢programming，毕竟是本行．Quant虽然还只接触到皮毛，不
过还是挺感兴趣，以后想向finance方向发展．
2) Job. F是本行，进去应该马上就能一展拳脚，F现在很红火的说。另外在F工作conne
ction会很广，要知道IT的同行不是一般的多．G的job也很ex |

phd's start rate is pretty standard in SV (around 100k, unless you are
from Mars). G and F is a bit lower than Y/O/M, because they are
supposed to give you more stocks, which is fair enough. If you do the
math, you will find you will probably get roughly the same thing if you
truly stay for 4 years. No place is certainly more heavenly than other
places (well, google used to be before 2005).

其实都挺在理的，说的facts也符合实情。其实现在从这几家大公司争着往social netw
orks公司里跳的人不少，这几家social networks的公司招人也就水涨船高。
钱上头我主要还是看个base salary，那个是铁板钉钉跑不了的。其它的，stock，bonu
s我都觉得是没个准儿的。另外还要看自己在这个公司里的位置。比如说，去google你到
底会进哪个组？google的projects可是五花八门很多的。你到底在那里起个什么作用，
有什么样的学习机会和成长空间？去social networks的startup公司的话，你显然有更
大的impact学习成长空间都很大。这样以后再换工作的时候是不是会更有资本一些？别
忘了，这些公司虽然还只是startup，他们的user可是数十数百个M，所以你面临的技术

several friends there who's like that.

查了几次都没有合适的opening就觉得他们多半不hire就没管了。
最近我就四处打听SV还有啥类似于oracle的公司，我是说：普通高薪＋轻松，嘿嘿。

that's kinda hard. If you are not graduating from a school with a name
such that people will wow on it, pretty much you can forget about it.
