company was just acquired by Tencent for $400MM, and is looking at possible
IPO in the next 3-5 years.
The right candidate must have good experience dealing with large dataset,
have exposure to statistical modeling. Must have working experience in an
analytical role. Experience in gaming industry a plus. Compensation very

Business Analyst
As one of the most popular PC games today, League of Legends is reshaping PC
gaming and core gamers perception of virtual goods. Riot Games (named a
Top 30 developer by Game Developer Magazine), the publisher and developer of
League of Legends, is experiencing a period of rapid growth, doubling the
size of the company in the past year. With several million players in their
first game across the US and Europe, and numerous awards (including IGN.com
’s Readers' Choice for Best Multiplayer Game for League of Legends), Riot
Games has pioneered new ground with their debut title and is continuing to
aggressively expand.
As part of that growth, Riot Games has an immediate opening for a Business
Analyst to help us uncover consumer and business insights through analysis
of data on player behavior. We are interested in an individual with a
proactive and pragmatic approach to defining problems, gathering data,
drawing conclusions and deep insights. We are looking for a candidate with
analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a demonstrated ability find
meaning in volumes of data, and present the results in clearly and concisely
. He or she must enjoy working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial
environment.
Responsibilities:
* Drive exploration and analysis of massive, complex data sets
representing millions of online games
* Derive insights on game design, play balance, efficient marketing, and
player retention
* Gather business goals, questions and needs from senior leadership to
generate reports and intelligence informing business strategy
* Work with Senior Leadership to establish regular business reporting of
critical dashboard statistics and insight, which will feed directly into
consumer research, and game design
Requirements:
* Quantitative degree a must, advanced degree a plus
* 2+ years experience and demonstrated expertise in top-tier management
consulting, statistical analysis with emphasis on analytics and reporting
* Familiarity with statistical methods (e.g., cluster and regressions
analysis, etc.)
* Strong understanding of the challenges of working within large, rich
datasets
* Working knowledge of MySQL, or willingness to learn MySQL
* Experience presenting results in clear fashion both visually and
verbally
* Solid grasp of finance and accounting fundamentals and a sense of
business implications
* Able to work and problem solve independently, to organize workload and
priorities, and complete tasks on time

望再多收一点简历。
再详细介绍一下，Riotgames刚刚被腾讯买($400MM)，但是腾讯没有参与管理，公司还
是在往上市的方向努力。公司的主打游戏“英雄联盟”已经盈利，马上会与腾讯合作在
大陆推出正式版，成长非常快。“League of Legends”也已经被WCP列为正式比赛项目
，会更加促进游戏的发展。我认为这种免费多人对战游戏的模式，也就是Starcraft的
内容加上Zynga的收费模式是非常有前途的。我自己也是拒了好几家500强的公司，来的
Riotgames。
这个职位我非常希望能够招个中国人，大家一起在公司里努力。理想的candidate是数
据（大的数据集），统计至少懂一些，最好平时也玩游戏，或者对多人对战游戏有基本
的概念。希望能够至少有一年工作经验
底薪7-10万，15天假期，另外有股权。公司的移民律师很好，H1-B和绿卡都没有问题。
