First of all, thank you if you can give any suggestions. I might have a
potential offer from a famous university. The boss doesn't want to do H1B
sponsorship, only J. This is a funded position.
My area is somewhat narrow. Not many openings (<80 positions nationally)
. My concern is: (1) if I get this position, difficult for me to move onto
the next position. J waiver takes about 4 -8 months. Which institution is
willing to wait that long? (2) This might be an opportunity to build up my
resume with more publications. So, I hesitate (3) The boss is a Taiwanese.
He seems to be firm on J visa, causing me to be concerned about if he is a
nice person. In fact, this univ has a lot of money,but they may not pay
attention to position like this. I know they only spend money on faculty
hiring.
