1. when the company is in pre-ipo stage, the only thing the management
focuses on is PR and marketing. so you're more likely to be doing some shit
work to support marketing than real engineering work
2. at this stage, the board will want to value the company on the high end
of the spectrum. your offer package based on this high valuation won't
bring you much upside any more. you might say look at facebook or linkedin.
their stocks are doing great after ipo. but those are the outliers, not the
norm.
in my opinion, in terms of timing, you're better off join the company at
least 6 months before ipo, or 3 months after ipo, but not during.

Because all knew first rule: "More Money" of LaoTu's three rules is the
most important.
Yes, you are absolutely correct, LaoTu's Second rule: "Nicer Lifestyle" is
important too. But, most people forget it when they looking for the company
will go to public in near future.

快上市的公司股票价格还不知道，因此会发很多股票，上市以后基本都翻倍甚至几倍。
如果去已经上市的公司，人家价格早就知道了。就给你发相应的股票，根本没法发财。
如果去还离上市很远的公司，基本就是赌博。
这下清楚了吧。工作机会很多，但是发财机会不是那么容易出现的。快上市的就是这样
的机会。
再说了，就是不是快上市的也不一定就清闲。快上市的也不一定都累。累不累谁知道呢
，但是股票就要上市了这个可是非常非常有吸引力的。
