1. Sr. Software Engineer
Location: San Francisco, CA Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Experienced
The Role:
Cardpool is looking for a technical lead to guide our small team of
dedicated engineers. As a technical lead you enjoy both making high level
technical decisions while also getting your hands dirty writing code
yourself. As an engineer, you will play a senior role with the team specing
and implementing well defined projects as well as working on open ended
projects. You will work on a broad mix of projects (online commerce, data
mining/machine learning, dynamic pricing and inventory management, API
design, enterprise-level application development) and a broad mix of
technologies (AWS, Ruby on Rails, HTML, JavaScript, some systems-level linux
, python, scalable web server deployments with nginx).
About you:
* You have at least 3 years of experience as a software engineer with
interest in continuing to build your coding skills
* You know your way around HTML, CSS and JavaScript
* You have made smart architectural decisions in a smart modular
maintainable way
* You have been through a release cycle and a maintenance cycle, and have
done some refactoring or worked on V2 of a project
* You're able and excited to learn new technologies and languages
Bonus points for:
* Experience mentoring other engineers in the past - Engineers will come to
you to talk about detailed implementation points, and run ideas by you
* Familiarity with AWS, Web API design, UNIX servers, Rails

Cardpool is looking for an engineer that enjoys taking on challenges and
working on new things. In this role, you will collaborate with the team
specing and implementing well defined projects as well as working on open
ended projects. You will work on a broad mix of projects (online commerce,
data mining/machine learning, dynamic pricing and inventory management, API
design, enterprise-level application development) and a broad mix of
technologies (AWS, Ruby on Rails, HTML, JavaScript, some systems-level linux
, python, scalable web server deployments with nginx).
About you:
* You have at least 2 years of experience as a software engineer
* You're comfortable using Ruby on Rails
* You know the basics around HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Bonus points for:
* Enjoying a quantitative culture by testing hypothesis and analyzing data
* Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining projects
