About Us We are the configuration management group of Symantec. We design
, support, automate and maintain the build process for multiple product
platforms. We help our developers deliver high quality software across a
large portion of the Symantec product line.
Job Function Development Function
Responsibilities Works with minimal supervision on analysis tasks, and
with little or no supervision on development tasks.
Designs, develops, maintains and implements software modules in support of
the Symantec build process and systems.
Participates in the definition of the life cycle of software build processes
.
With little or no supervision completes analysis of partially defined tasks,
completes major portions of complex functional specs/design documents or
entire documents and completes development and/or maintenance assignments.
Updates scripts and programs written by other staff members with minimal
guidance.
Collaborates withing and across groups in writing functional and design
specifications, development schedules and user interface specifications.
Identifies and suggests solutions to problems of significant scope.
Generates implementation places from functional specification documents.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or 4-6 years equivalent experience.
Strong emphasis and understanding of how to deliver quality software.
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more object oriented programming
languages (C++, Java or C#). Solid understanding of of version control
systems and their use in practice. Ability to demonstrate clever thinking
and superior communication skills. | p***r
