According to a CNN source, the network's cable run during the event was
physically tampered with.
"Someone cut the CNN cable between the truck and the fiber box," the source
said, adding that the truck staff said "the cable was shredded."
Events such as the press conference often have wires and cables running
across long distances from many different outlets, meaning anyone with a
sharp object could have attempted to cut the cable. The source said staff
did not observe anyone trying to cut the cable, and it's not clear yet
whether this was a targeted attack.
An MSNBC source said there was an "issue with the signal inside the room"
but called it a "technical issue."
Fox News did not experience a signal issue during the event, though we've
asked a spokesperson if there were any problems.
A Trump spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
