County seafood restaurant turned into a shootout in the parking lot, police
said.
The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Wats Crackin Garlic Crabs
at 368 Candler Road, DeKalb County police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.
Travis Allen, 42, has been charged with malice murder, Campbell said, but
the name of the 23-year-old victim, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, has
not been released.
Police have not said why that man was wearing a vest, but they believe he
started the fight.
“The person who is dead is the man who followed the other man into the
parking lot,” Campbell said.
A bystander was also injured in the shooting, but those injuries were not
believed to be life-threatening, Campbell said.
