operated version with their own switch. But they are usually led based and
not very bright (for mood lighting)

发帖数: 2546 | 3 this is not about money, the original light is on a very important spot,
the switch is in a room,
the previous owner use the switch for another thing, so they set this
light always-on and disconnet the wire, so i need to have a switch to
control the light, and no place to dig a hole and add a switch.

You can do it just about anywhere next to a stud, unless you have plaster
wall, it is very easy to cut open some sheetrock and add a switch.
On the other hand, I have seen hotel wall light that come its own switch.
Wall sconces are always built to be controled by a wall switch (it will very
hard to find one with its own switch) |

发帖数: 4125 | 6 Why not? you can even put a extra one next to the existing switch.
Another option is to hide a remote control switch behind the wall (just add
it to the existing line)
