kinds of extension spring. A guy complained his uncle was hurt because of
it and didn't recover in a few months.

contractor，BBB上的不满意至少可以complain, 俄国鬼子就是黑社会啊，一锤子买卖。

Torsion spring
When the door is raised, the springs unwind and the stored tension lifts the
door by turning the shaft, thus turning the cable drums, wrapping the
cables around the grooves on the cable drums. When the door is lowered, the
cables unwrap from the drums and the springs are rewound to full tension
extension spring
The springs lift the door through a system of pulleys and counterbalance
cables running from the bottom corner brackets through the pulleys. When the
door is raised, the springs contract, thus lifting the door as the tension
is released

torsion要两端把lift cable卸下来，然后把旧弹簧拿下
新的装上去，卡住后用两个铁棍给拧上劲。要很大劲，有危险。
extension spring左右在后面，可以把门弄起来后换，
就没多少力在里面了。好换的多。

你说的是两根弹簧中的一根断了，你的很可能是我家这种，不是麻烦的那种，那种是单
弹簧的，据说力量比较大。我家这种是在松弛状态下换弹簧的，几个关键的地方一勾就
成了，比较简单。你要是没经验，就让专人来修理，仔细观察下好了，下次就可以自己
换了。BTW，弹簧要换就换两根，根据弹簧末端的颜色分辨弹簧的磅数，或者联系车库
门的制造商，根据型号就可以找到弹簧的磅数，good luck

我自己调整过。关键是要知道这个东西随时有可能断，释放
很大能量。如果被打到就很惨。
我上紧的时候很注意站位不要在被上紧弹簧那边，随时准备
那两个个铁棍飞出来。注意保护的话危险程度貌似没有攀岩
lead climb take a fall 那么可怕。注意永远有至少一根铁
棍牢牢卡在里面。那个弹簧力气其实不是很大，就是门一半
那么重。
铁棍就是 lowes 3 feet 1/2 inch, 据成两段，$5 左右。 |

换完弹簧 又加上bottom rubber和8 feet strut additional $30
(garage door 以前被拉坏过一次 我上了块4 feet strut 用了半年多也被拉弯了 这次换掉了)
total $180
被告知弹簧寿命是7-12 years
更换前把门抬起来后 弹簧处于收缩状态 装上去 没什么危险
再把两边各两根钢丝拉紧固定
