叫plumber来说是通往front yard的sewer里面已经长树根了，说明sewer broke了。然
后要charge我们1万3，说是要把地翻开换新的sewer。请问有过相关经验的各位这个
quote是不是太高了，应该大概在什么价位上。
另外，如果我们不修的话只是让人过段时间清理疏通管道，大概多久要清理一次？ |

解一下如果不replace pipe，一般得多久需要疏通一次管道，这样来看看换pipe的

发帖数: 2552 | 4 先从clean out下钻头钻通，钻头出来的时候观察下钻头残留物，如果发现树根，那很
可能是root钻透sewer line了。有经验的plumber会告诉你有几处堵塞，然后这个时候
还需要下摄像头观察实际位置以及评估损坏程度，以上cost $200-300。plumber只随便
看看就报价纯属讹诈不要信。情况不严重只要定期从下水道撒倒点root killer，也许
要考虑砍树。最差的情况是整段sewer line都坏了，如果你是第一次碰到此类堵塞可能
性不大，只有一处堵塞的话最多只挖开一处换一段管子，cost不会高，甚至自己也能干

issue. However, clay pipes are fragile. If they collapse, you will have to
replace the whole thing. Replacing a small portion may not work, because it
could cause the whole pipe fall apart. They are brittle.

一年一次。不要动不动就换管子，
另外，你城市可能有sewer 保险，就是你每年的房产税，大概几十块钱强制交的sewer
保险费。你打电话到你的城市问一下，如果有，你可以报销你换管子的钱。 |

儿开始看。
今天刚又找了一家靠谱一点儿的plumber用camera给我看了一下pipe里的状况。总体来
说condition还是可以，没有severe的broken spots，所以准备做定期清理和维护就好
。我也会用一些root killer。
他还给我一个方案就是在屋外加一个cleanout，这样以后清理起来也方便，不过也要
cost 5K，不知道值不值得。一般root invade的话长得快不快，半年清理一次是否可行？

可以，没有明显的断裂，估计root是invade进去的。我们应该不会考虑完全replace
pipe，后面看看是不是定期清理和维护就能凑合住。还是万分感谢你的经验~

小的crack，所以应该是root invading导致的。我们准备把里面剩下的一些root都抠出
来，然后定期用一些root killer维护一下。实在感谢各种耐心回复~

killer every 6 months or one year depending how bad your situation is. Again
, read the reviews for root killer. Those reviewers will give you a clue.
Cut trees that are closer to your house, those most likely to affect your
sewer pipes.

刚才给昨天做inspection的plumber打电话，他说因为root cluster太厚，他们不建议
用snake把root弄出来，这样的话就会break pipe。那这样的话我是不是只能换pipe了
？
我昨天网上买了一种root killer叫 Roebic FRK Foaming Root Killer。因为这种
root killer会形成foam，如果我现在用这种chemical的话会不会导致pipe彻底堵死了。
或者，我已经确认两块root cluster的位置了，如果我不用snake也不用root killer，
而是挖开相应位置的草皮，把那些invade到pipe里的root外侧剪断，会不会有作用？

较费劲，但是管内的还是没法直接清理掉，你再咨询下其他plumber看看怎么说
