病理的圈子很小的，一封病理大牛的推荐信就可以让一个申请人面试滚滚大杀四方。
没有病理大夫的推荐信的情况下，申请人如果自己有做病理的经历，比如说在国内干过
病理住院医。再不成自己有个病理的PhD。这些都算跟病理有bonding。比较容易被考虑。
以上都没有的情况下,高分，有文章，等等任何人生闪光点都可能有用，但是要取决于
各个program怎么看。

factor.
But otherwise, USMLE scores are very very important. I know people who have
got 9 ivs already. from what I know programs process the ivs according to
scores. so if you have higher scores, higher chance your application will be
processed earlier and overall chance is higher.

发帖数: 243 | 89 又到面试季节，和resident吃中饭的时候建议大家多说话，不要沉默寡言。今天和几个
面试者一起吃饭，后来评分的时候说话多一点的会感觉好一点，因为时间很短不可能真
正了解一个人，如果一句话不说，根本没法评价。而且一言不发会让人觉得你对
program不感兴趣。
resident的评分没什么用，但是2个相差不多的时候大概会看一下resident的意见。
面试的人一般都是问衣食住行，daily schedule，城市，是否喜欢program，都是聊天
的问题，不用拘谨。 |

看的。
我还问了pd面试的时候主要看什么，他说就看这个人是不是能work with，是否好相处
，有没有red flag。我觉得主要是personality方面的东西，对IMG来说是否熟悉美国医
疗体系，以及语言也比较要紧。 |

发帖数: 86 | 91 我觉得拿到iv感觉也是要和20个人竞争1个位置，如果这样想压力确实挺大的。但是从
往年数据来看基本上也就是和其它科室差不多的2个人竞争1个位置。这样想的话是不是
可以稍微安心一些。到时候面试的时候发挥自然一些。
最后主要还是AMG有多少要rank你去的program，AMG热门的地方即使拿到iv去的概率也
很小。看看AMG每年的动向然后避开它们是最好的。88楼贴子是studentdoc的，里面夹
杂着AMG、IMG和忽悠的。不过也可以大致看出AMG的喜好，像那些麻州纽约州拿到手软
的肯定是AMG无误了。
楼上提出的red flag我倒是比较好奇，面试过程中哪些行为属于red flag呢？我觉得大

没有病理大夫的推荐信的情况下，申请人如果自己有做病理的经历，比如说在国内干过
病理住院医。再不成自己有个病理的PhD。这些都算跟病理有bonding。比较容易被考虑。
以上都没有的情况下,高分，有文章，等等任何人生闪光点都可能有用，但是要取决于
各个program怎么看。

factor.
But otherwise, USMLE scores are very very important. I know people who have
got 9 ivs already. from what I know programs process the ivs according to
scores. so if you have higher scores, higher chance your application will be
processed earlier and overall chance is higher.

面试者一起吃饭，后来评分的时候说话多一点的会感觉好一点，因为时间很短不可能真
正了解一个人，如果一句话不说，根本没法评价。而且一言不发会让人觉得你对
program不感兴趣。
resident的评分没什么用，但是2个相差不多的时候大概会看一下resident的意见。
面试的人一般都是问衣食住行，daily schedule，城市，是否喜欢program，都是聊天
的问题，不用拘谨。 |

看的。
我还问了pd面试的时候主要看什么，他说就看这个人是不是能work with，是否好相处
，有没有red flag。我觉得主要是personality方面的东西，对IMG来说是否熟悉美国医
疗体系，以及语言也比较要紧。 |

发帖数: 86 | 191 我觉得拿到iv感觉也是要和20个人竞争1个位置，如果这样想压力确实挺大的。但是从
往年数据来看基本上也就是和其它科室差不多的2个人竞争1个位置。这样想的话是不是
可以稍微安心一些。到时候面试的时候发挥自然一些。
最后主要还是AMG有多少要rank你去的program，AMG热门的地方即使拿到iv去的概率也
很小。看看AMG每年的动向然后避开它们是最好的。88楼贴子是studentdoc的，里面夹
杂着AMG、IMG和忽悠的。不过也可以大致看出AMG的喜好，像那些麻州纽约州拿到手软
的肯定是AMG无误了。
楼上提出的red flag我倒是比较好奇，面试过程中哪些行为属于red flag呢？我觉得大
家面试过程中都会比较保守吧，不会出现什么特别巨大的失误的。 |

人是不是容易相处，能不能一起做事。在住院医面前不要试图去展示自己的优秀之处，
就是几个住院医加上几个申请人一起吃饭聊天说话而已。别人说话的时候好好听，别插
嘴，别人说完了该轮到你说你得说几句，别只是一两个词随便评论别人说的情况，要真
的有感触，接着展开地说或者提出相关但是又更高级的问题就好了。

发帖数: 3319 | 204 Red flag就是住院医忌讳的东东，不同的人忌讳的东西不一样，所以还真不好说清楚。
总的来说，总有几个申请人最后被决定不rank了，我见过别人提到的原因有给人印象自
视太高的，申请AP/CP但是面试的时候说想做CP only的，因为种种原因不能独立做尸体
解剖的，等等，各种各样的原因都有。基本上就是不容易相处的，或者不能干活的。
个人看法，不一定适用于每个地方。

比如说forensic, 如果你的经历实在是太符合forensic了当然可以说，不过同时也再说
一个稍微接近大众的，别让人觉得你跟他并不是两个世界的人，呵呵。总之，不管你对
这个问题的答案是什么，要说得让别人听了能理解你的选择，而且你的这个选择在这个
program里能实现。跟住院医说的时候不用搞得太高深，就是聊天。跟主治讨论这个问
题的话可能要求你能说说为什么选择这个。
好像面试的时候，说话时表达的方式比说话的内容更容易给人不好的感觉。所以准备面
试的时候，不仅要想好说什么，还要想想怎么说才不显得突兀，让人很容易接受。 |

发帖数: 3319 | 206 随便写了几段，回过头读了读觉得自己写得不怎么样，也没有表达好自己的意思。好久
没时间灌水了搞得灌水的能力都减退了。所以说不管想做好什么事，总是要花很多时间
在上面才行。面试的表现直接影响到最后的rank order,所以有面试的一定要珍惜。自
己多思考多练习，也跟朋友多练练，还要舍得花钱，请专人辅导。辅导完了别仅仅是感
触良多，更重要的是要进一步花更多的时间去准备去练习。申请说到底其实是自己一个
人的事情。要想申请成功只有自己拼了命的努力努力再努力。 |
