should not be impeached. Impeachment is when someone from office does a bad
thing and people want to kick he or her out of office. According to CBS,
first, Congress opens an impeachment inquiry to investigate whether
impeachment is called for. The Judiciary Committee will evaluate the
recommendations and determine whether there is sufficient evidence for a
full House vote on articles of impeachment. Then the House votes on the
impeachment. If there is a majority vote for impeachment, the president is
immediately impeached. Currently, we are in the inquiry process.
In July, Trump had a phone call with the Ukrainian president and was
accused of pressuring the president to opening an investigation on Joe Biden
. Joe Biden had allegedly threatened to pull funds for Ukraine if they didn'
t fire a prosecutor that was looking into corruption allegations against a
gas company that employed his son, Hunter
Biden. Originally, the media had thought that Trump threatened to withhold
military funding from Ukraine if they failed to investigate Biden. According
to FreedomWire, Trump has released the transcript of the phone call and
there was no mention of withdrawing aid.
We should stop looking at the "bad things" Trump did and look at the
good things he has done for our country. For example, He recognized
Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which made many people happy. According
to The Washington Post, he also pushed to have more women in the CIA. For
example, he appointed Gina Haspel as the first CIA female director. Why
should Trump be impeached if he is continuing to do good
things like this?
If Trump gets impeached, who takes his place? Mike Pence. He has his
problems too and we need to think if he would be worse than Trump. According
to Sfgate, Mike Pence used Disney movie "Mulan" as evidence that women
should not serve in the military. Also according in Sfgate, he said, "
Obviously, this is Walt Disney's attempt to add childhood expectations to
the cultural debate over the role of women in the military. I suspect that
some mischievous liberal at Disney assumes that Mulan's story will cause a
quiet change in the next generation’s attitude about women in combat...Put
them together, in close quarters, for long periods of time, and things will
get interesting... Moral of the story: women in the military, bad idea." Do
you really want a person like Mike Pence to be your next president?
People who want to impeach Trump might say that he is racist. They
might even provide evidence like him talking about how Muslims and Mexicans
are criminals and shouldn't enter the United States. However, according to
Google , the definition of racist is “a person who believes that a
particular race is superior to another.” So the problem with the argument
that Trump is racist is that Muslim is not a race and neither is Mexico.
In conclusion, I don't think Trump did anything that bad. He has done
a lot of great things for our country and will keep doing more if we keep
him. We take a risk if we impeach him because Pence will take over. Also, in
my opinion, he's not racist. Not at all. So think about it, do you really
want President Trump impeached?
