剧情能看,没什么一眼看穿的大漏洞.
主要缺点:
1. 结局有点勉强

Terminator Genisys is a film that spends much of its 125-minute running time
straining to justify its existence and justify the extension of the brand.
It is less a movie than a full-length commercial for the potential of
ongoing Terminator movies that use the concept of time travel to keep itself
alive well past the point of expiration. And it is clearer now than ever
that this is a series that belongs in the past. It would be easy to say that
the Terminator franchise should have ended in 1991 with the second James
Cameron chapter, but that negates both the surprisingly solid Terminator 3:
Rise of the Machines and (according to those I trust who watched it) the
decent Sarah Connor Chronicles television series. Say what you will about
Terminator Salvation, and I can say a lot of mean things about it, but at
least it was telling its own story and charting its own path. This limp and
discombobulated reboot/sequel/side-quel clings to the memory of the first
film, slavishly recreating the narrative of the first film and then the
structure of the second, offering little-to-nothing that we haven’t seen
before and presenting it in a visually drab and emotionally vacant fashion.
With the important caveat that Terminator 2 is merely “almost as good” as
The Terminator and I genuinely like Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, we
know have a five film franchise that has gotten worse each time out.
The film starts out well enough, with a good twenty-minutes showing the yet
another presentation of Judgment Day (we have now seen Judgment Day onscreen
almost as often as we’ve seen Bruce Wayne’s parents get shot) and a look
at the night when John Connor’s rebellion won the war against the machines
but failed to stop a terminator from traveling to 1984. On one hand, it’s
the kind of “explain and show everything” filmmaking that thinks it’s
mimicking Batman Begins but really is mimicking a Saw sequel, but the big
robot war stuff is terrific (director Alan Taylor is good at the whole mass
battle thing) and at the very least this is new material. But once Kyle
Reese (Jai Courtney, an exploding fireball of charisma per usual, and
technically the film’s lead character*) travels to 1984 the film turns into
a hodgepodge of scenes we’ve already seen and then wholly new material
that is only somewhat like what we’ve already seen. This isn’t a clever
Back to the Future II-style revisiting of the prior chapters. This is a
franchise clinging to its own past and clinging to the one brief point in
time when it was culturally relevant.
As you probably know, the hook is that “the past has been changed,” we
means the status quo of our characters has been messed around with a bit. It
takes a good 40 minutes of the 125-minute movie to truly go its own way,
but sadly this rehash stuff, which includes a new variation on the T-1000
and the introduction to a new T-800 (sent to protect and then raise Sarah
Connor when she was a child), is the best stuff in the movie. The film
ironically plummets in interest once it charts its own future, with a good
15-20 minutes spent during its second act making the choice to use a
homegrown time machine to travel to 2017 and theoretically stop Judgment Day
. If the notion of our heroes hopping through time shows promise, don’t get
your hopes up. The film does basically nothing with the time jump, with the
film leaping into the future and then getting involved with the same “
caught by police, chased by a terminator” shtick that wouldn’t look out of
place in any era.
The action scenes are efficient but perfunctory and dull, with many of them
doing little to progress the story beyond offering trailer-friendly beats.
There is nothing in terms of scale or entertainment value that equals any of
the big chase scenes from the four prior installments. Even Terminator
Salvation had a barn-burner of a first act chase sequence. This film fails
even that token requirement. It is bizarre to realize that the
comparatively small-scale thrills of watching Schwarzenegger and Robert
Patrick beat the stuffing out of each other back in 1991 is significantly
more exciting and engaging than this film’s presumably more expensive robot
versus robot showdowns. And not only is the film PG-13, it lacks even all
that much violence and contains zero tension throughout. In Terminator 3:
Rise of the Machines, we wondered if Nick Stahl and Claire Danes could stop
Judgment Day because we were emotionally invested in the outcome. In this
film, we wonder if Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney can stop Judgment Day
because we’re hopeful that the film will actually have something resembling
a definitive ending either way as opposed to bazillion loose ends for a
theoretical sequel.
Emilia Clarke is supposed to be a “strong-from-the-get go” Sarah Connor,
but Emilia Clarke lacks both Linda Hamilton’s charisma and individualism.
It’s sad that we’re still supposed to be impressed in 2015 that a female
character in an action film can handle herself in the action beats, even as
this revamp makes her a supporting character to Courtney’s would-be future
savior. Worst of all is that the film makes her primary arc into whether or
not she can/will fall in love with that totally not-cute/totally too bossy
future boy who she knows will eventually father her child. I’m not sure why
anyone thought we needed to see Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese fall in love
all over again. Heck, even when Shrek The Final Chapter played that game it
was about Shrek coming to terms with an unplanned life (it was Greenburg for
kids), but Clarke and Courtney’s would-be “Ew, I would never fall in love
with him!” courtship doesn’t exist for any other thematic purpose.
The second half of the film seems to make up rules about time travel and/or
changing the future as it goes along, ending in a boring skirmish in a
boring office building that amounts to characters yelling at holograms while
terminators fight each other. By the way, there is a pretty big surprise
that is revealed both in the film’s trailer and even on the main poster,
but it bears little significance to the overall story. I will be vague here,
but the would-be revelation doesn’t remotely change the progression or
outcome of the story, and it’s only a plot twist in the sense that it goes
against what we know from the prior films. And that’s one of this picture
’s biggest problems. It hangs onto the first two Terminator movies for dear
life, using the familiar character and plot beats as a key point of
relevance. Yes we have eye-rolling callbacks and visual references galore,
but more importantly the film absolutely fails to stand on its own absent
its connection to the Terminator and Terminator 2. Say what you will about
Jurassic World, but it operates both as a sequel to a popular franchise and
a stand-alone story that doesn’t depend on its predecessors to fill in the
blanks and/or offer thematic relevance.
But I could forgive much of what I complained about above if the end result
weren’t so relentlessly dull. Schwarzenegger gives the film what life it
has, even if we’ve seen most of the “Can a machine be a father and crack
jokes?” beats before. Jai Courtney is the most generic of generic heroes,
while Emilia Clarke is forced to basically infantilize Sarah Connor. J.K.
Simmons provides welcome amusement, but it strains credibility that his
character would be allowed to participate in the manner that he does. But
the film is visually drab and narratively bland, with few truly memorable
moments amid a watered-down, over-explained, and more explicitly kid-
friendly version of the first two films. Like Terminator Salvation, this isn
’t just a PG-13 film but an out-and-out “constructed for kids” variation
on a previously adult story. But at least Terminator Salvation tells its own
story and thus justifies its existence in the realm of the Terminator
franchise.
Terminator Genisys, which is about as bad but exponentially less engaging,
falls into the Amazing Spider-Man/Nightmare On Elm Street trap of telling a
story we’ve mostly already seen in a greatly inferior fashion. In the days
to come, should I ever want to watch a Terminator film, I might choose one
of James Cameron’s first two masterpieces, I might choose Jonathan Mostow’
s underrated third entry, or I might even give McG’s future war sequel
another shot. But I can’t imagine I will ever choose to revisit Terminator
Genisys, which is a relentlessly unenjoyable variation of past/future
glories. Why sample the knock-off, when you can savor the original?
* I tend to pick on Jai Courtney quite a bit, as he is one of those “came
out of nowhere, seems to get tons of high profile roles despite not making
much of an impression on audiences” would-be new movie stars. But while I
find him incredibly uninteresting as a hero, he’s not half-bad as a baddie
as evidenced by Jack Reacher and Divergent Series: Insurgent. If he gets to
keep his natural accent for Suicide Squad, I will remain optimistic. | l****z

All the while I was watching Terminator Genisys, the same phrase kept coming
back to me… “We have to go back in time and kill the screenwriter.”
Terminator Genisys is the latest edition of the Terminator series, a
property rivaled only by the Alien series for turning two great films into
an awful franchise. The last two entries, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
and Terminator Salvation clocked in at 70 percent and 33 percent on Rotten
Tomatoes, respectively – and they’re being rather generous with the 70
percent.
The early trailers suggested promising signs about Terminator Genisys.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is back playing the T-800, and the film is trying
something kind of cool – rewriting what happened in The Terminator,
portraying a timeline snarled from many iterations of time travel. The cast
also includes talented actors like Emilia Clarke, J.K. Simmons, and Matt
Smith (of Doctor Who fame).
I avoided reading reviews before I watched the movie to avoid bias, so I
really didn’t know what to expect walking into the film. Does Genisys
succeed in redeeming the franchise? Can a cool idea and a star-studded cast
of actors save the series?
So, is Terminator Genisys worth watching?
The short answer is no. Not at all. Terminator Genisys is one of the dumbest
movies I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen The FP. The longer, more detailed
answer is below, so read our spoiler-free review for geeks to find out all
the gory details.
The Acting
Good actors are only as good as their script and direction – compare Liam
Neeson in Schindler’s List and Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, for
a poignant example. Clearly, something similar was going on in Genisys.
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones) looks like she’s
acting at gunpoint. More importantly, she totally lacks the physical
presence and strength of personality you need to play a convincing Sarah
Conner. Compare her to Lena Headey (also from Game of Thrones) in the
excellent Terminator television show, who consistently looked willing and
able to kick your teeth down your throat should the need arise.
Generic protagonist Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese) (who you may remember from the
most recent Die Hard movie) clearly has no idea where he is. In The
Terminator, Kyle Reese projects a kind of a hardened vulnerability. His
acting conveyed a lifetime of trauma, and a certain amount of disgust with
the luxury of pre-apocalyptic life. In Genisys, Kyle Reese projects
literally nothing. He looks like a pile of biceps inside a trench coat.
The love story between Reese and Sarah Connor in Genisys is one of the least
convincing romances I’ve ever seen. And, to reiterate, I’ve seen The FP.
Jason Clarke does a credible turn as the adult John Conner, but even he
chokes occasionally on the frankly awful dialog the writers keep shoving in
his mouth.
Matt Smith is just sort of there, for no apparent reason.
Pretty much only J.K. Simmons and Arnold himself seem to be having fun. One
of the few bright points in this movie is watching Arnold wander around with
a mouthful of scenery, thrilled out of his mind that they’re letting him
do this again.
The Plot
Time travel has consistently generated most of the cool plots in the
Terminator films. John Connor sending his best friend back to die to ensure
his own paternity is really cool. So is the plot in Terminator 2: Judgment
Day about having to murder innocent scientists who will someday create world
-ending technology.
Genisys adds a new element to the time travel trope, allowing time-travelers
to recover memories from their alternate selves when the timeline diverges
due to a “nexus point”… or something. I’m going to be honest, I’m
having trouble remembering the technobabble they forced Arnold to mumble his
way through.
The point is, it’s an extraneous and insultingly magical piece of mythology
dreamed up to give the characters a piece of information they could have
gotten in much cooler ways. In The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the writers
wanted to solve the same problem in order to give their main characters
hints that the future has changed. Their solution was to have a mortally
wounded time traveler show up, and scrawl half-legible messages in blood in
their garage before dying. I think we can all agree that that’s much cooler
than so-called “nexus points”.
Then there are the Terminators themselves. Since Terminator 2, the
Terminator franchise has had a complex relationship with the humanity of its
machines. Both Judgment Day and the TV show hint at the possibility of
sentient, emotional Terminators – but they don’t do much more than hint.
That’s a very good thing, because actually giving us a sentimental
Terminator would be a huge mistake, and betray the chilling characterization
the films have set up. Without getting too far into spoiler territory, I’m
sad to say that Genisys does exactly that.
The strength of Terminators is that they are machines. What’s it like to be
an intelligence that lacks emotion, morality, and even boredom? Is such a
machine a person? Could it ever be? These questions are more relevant than
ever, in a world in which our ability to create intelligent machines is
growing more powerful at an astonishing rate, and we’re struggling with
giving more and more control to machines that we often don’t fully
understand.
What happens when a Google self-driving car has to make a moral judgement
with life or death stakes? Or a military robot? Can we trust software to
weigh the complexity of one life versus another when it can’t reliably
figure out which audio device to output to? These are interesting questions
that the Terminator franchise, at its best, can answer.
Unfortunately, Genisys is far from the Terminator franchise at its best.
Generally, Genisys feels like a movie that suffered from too many revisions
of its script. Concepts are introduced that are never fully explained or
used for anything of consequence. Arbitrary-seeming elements abound. The
plot meanders between set pieces, checking off Terminator references and
summer blockbuster tropes with no particular direction or urgency.
This feels like Terminator as made by Michael Bay. Which, if you haven’t
read the memo, is a bad thing.
The Technology
Even among film robots, Terminators are special. Too often, when sci-fi
franchises explore the idea of humanoid robots, they go to ridiculous
extremes of biotechnology or nanotechnology, and make robots that literally
cannot be distinguished from humans (we’re looking at you, Battlestar
Galactica). This can be useful for plot purposes – and saves on special
effects – but it can also make things a little too abstract to really carry
that punch of ‘this isn’t a person, it’s a thing.’
The Terminator franchise, in contrast, embraces the mechanical nature of its
robots. The famous Terminator endoskeleton looks like a machine. You can
see rods and joints and motors working underneath. The films don’t shy away
from stripping off the flesh and letting you see the moving parts. The T-
800 endoskeleton doesn’t look that far off from something Bostom Dynamics
might build.
And, while current robots struggle to pass for human (or, in some cases,
even stand upright), there’s a clear path from here to there. We all know,
on some level, that the technology will get there eventually. That’s one of
the things that makes the Terminator so scary. It feels like something that
we could really make in the future.
Every attempt to improve on the Terminator (including, much as I hate to
admit it, the T-1000) has lost some of that magic. And, unfortunately,
Genisys‘ contribution (a new kind of Terminator that resembles a swarm of
magnetic moths) is no different. It’s a great piece of CGI (computer-
generated imagery), but it totally fails to be plausible enough to be
threatening.
Then there’s the attempt to modernize the Terminator mythology by turning
Skynet into an app, presumably as a nod to the population of moviegoers old
enough to be cranky about slightly new technology. Let’s be clear here:
there are a number of technological developments that are scary enough to be
taken seriously. Smartphones and apps are not on that list. There has
always been an anti-technology angle to the Terminator films, but it’s
never been this dumb before.
The Visuals
One of the few redeeming elements of this movie are the visual effects as
they are genuinely impressive. Computer-generated Arnold is right on the
cusp of the uncanny valley. Several of the sequences involving the T-1000
and the new model of Terminator are extravagant, and a joy to watch.
However, even here the quality is uneven. A number of the special effects-
heavy scenes have jarringly unpolished elements in them – especially the
sequences set in the future. Some of them are so glaring that I have to
wonder whether the post-production process simply ran out of money before
finishing some of the scenes. Which is unforgivable for a big-budget
blockbuster such as this.
Final Thoughts
The Good:
Good, if uneven, special effects
Charming performances from several actors
Some neat ideas buried inside the plot
The Bad:
Dull writing
Unconvincing acting
An incoherent mess of a plot
A general failure to capitalize on the strengths of the Terminator
franchise.
The Verdict
Terminator Genisys is a bad movie. It’s After Earth bad. It might even be
Battleship bad. Unless you’re a die hard Terminator fan who just wants to
watch robots punch things, don’t pay money for it.
Buy Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles instead, and spend some leisure
time binge-watching the whole series at home. It covers a lot of the same
ideas in a more satisfying way, and is generally a joy to watch. As for
Genisys, I suggest waiting for the Rifftrax version.

其它的，无惊无险四平八稳，基本达到了对终结者的预期吧。其实我觉得不说1和2，终
结者3和4都蛮好看的。genisys也不错。至于剧情设定吗，大家都知道，一旦牵扯到时

其前半部分我的大脑跟着他的画面、台词、音乐不断地闪回。
以下剧透报警！
音乐和台词都在向一二步致敬，不过我最喜欢的是T800会变老这样的设定。T800会学习
，懂得人类情绪并努力学习表情，直到2017年老T800先是腿脚不利索了，后是手也不好
使了，让人唏嘘机器人也有变老的时候，不知州长还能坚持多少年月。
不知道什么时候才能有一部国产电影足够经典到让观众边怀旧边感动。中年州长有备而
来，不再被年轻T800和T1000吊打时，我都听见了后排的美国观众响起了掌声，可见是
真心的替老州长叫好。
虽然电影本身并不优秀，但至少使老影迷们感到满足了吧。本来觉得这样结尾也挺好的
，老州长和Boss同归于尽，天网也被消灭，这样完结很完美。结果画风一转老州长瞬间
升级至T1000，彩蛋里大Boss也没死，我才意识到这又是一个三部曲...... | | | p******y

这两天还把1，2翻出来怀旧了一下。
感觉本片最大亮点是把州长塑造成一位慈父。
世间大部分父母也都像T800那样用一生来保护自己的孩子吧。

竟然开枪把这个军官打死了,电视里面拍的还好像很有正义感的样子. 尼玛怪不得人类
打不过cylong,这么怕死还打什么,直接投降算了.

多科幻的意味。
不过，依然是近年来科幻里的佳作了。
这个剧的spin off也不错的，Caprica，讲述了Cylon的崛起，我也很喜欢。可惜收视率
不成，一季就被撤下了。
