Championship -- and I now project it will be No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 2 Auburn.
With Auburn's 28-27 win over Alabama, the Tigers will beat South Carolina to

Comment: The SEC champion is locked to the Sugar Bowl, but with Auburn in
the title game, the Sugar Bowl gets a replacement pick. No doubt the Sugar
wants another SEC team and will take Arkansas. The Razorbacks are 10-2 and
will be ranked in the Top 10. With its other at-large selection, one of the
Big Ten co-champions will be on the board.
Orange Bowl
Jan. 3
Miami, Fla.
ACC vs. at-large
8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Comment: The ACC champion is locked to the Orange Bowl and Virginia Tech is
projected to win the conference. The Hokies are the only team in the ACC
with zero conference losses. The Orange Bowl gets the next selection after
the Sugar Bowl, but won't have many choices. It basically will have a choice
between the Big East champion or Stanford. Geographically, the Big East
champion is the better selection, so Connecticut is the pick here.
Fiesta Bowl
Jan. 1
Glendale, Ariz.
Big 12 vs. at-large
8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Comment: The Big 12 champion automatically goes to the Fiesta Bowl, so the
way I see it playing out is Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma and then knocks
off Nebraska in the in the Big 12 title game and lands here. The Fiesta Bowl
gets the last at-large pick, so it will either be the Big East champion or
a one-loss Stanford. The Orange Bowl is expected to pass on Stanford, so
good news for the folks in Glendale because the Cardinal land here.
Rose Bowl
Jan. 1
Pasadena, Calif.
Pac-10 vs. Big Ten
5 p.m. ET, ESPN
Comment: With the Rose Bowl losing Oregon to the title game, it will have to
take TCU. BCS rules state for the games of January 2011 through 2014, the
first year the Rose Bowl loses a team to the National Championship game,
that non-AQ team will play in the Rose Bowl. So TCU is the pick. Ohio State,
Wisconsin and Michigan State all won and ended in a three-way tie in the
Big Ten race. The tiebreaker is highest-ranked BCS team, which will be
Wisconsin.
