MSU's Tom Izzo named National Coach of the Year by CBSSports.com
Michigan State's Tom Izzo has been named National Coach of the Year by
CBSSports.com. MSU forward Draymond Green is First Team All-American and
Michigan guard Trey Burke is Second Team.
"We should have known better than to leave Izzo's Spartans out of the
Preseason Top 25, but the roster didn't have the look or feel of something
that could even challenge Ohio State in the Big Ten," Gary Parrish and Jeff
Goodman of CBSSports.com wrote.
The Spartans tied for the Big Ten regular-season championship with Michigan
and Ohio State, won the Big Ten tournament, and earned a No. 1 seed in the
NCAA Tournament.
Green is MSU's top scorer (16.1) and rebounder (10.4). Burke led the
Wolverines in scoring (14.8) and assists (4.6).
