I am in the same shoes with you, but with Sprint. Just jumped and purchased
two TP2 with $199 each. However, I am afraid that the phone will
automatically connect and download data when I am using, for example, google
map; I guess I will add the data plan later. | c******r

to China for quite a while so I may not need the data plan for now, but
probably shall add it back when I come back.

I checked my account just now, and found that a $6.XX charge is already
placed to one phone since I received the phone set yersterday, and I have
not even explicitely used any online service through "EV". SO, I just added
the data plan to this phone.
The data access to my second line was already blocked for the previous phone
, there is no data charge so far with that TP2.
It may be just the benefit for staying in a company longer. I guess the
policy that a new smartphone purchase | c******r

now even if I am going back soon? Is there a way to block the data access?
It's a lot of trouble if I add the data access now and then suspend the

before, all through easy web-based operations. I do not think I have to
keep the data plan. And I also dropped the data plan and even blocked data
access and possible charges from thrid parties for my other phones. I
needed to 'Chat' with online helpers to block the services, though. | c******r
