not flexible. It doesn't allow other make iPhone then
itself should cover different market segment.
iPad mini is a good starting point. Hopefully, its
management can realize for the phone it also has
to have different models to compete with others
effectively.
Basically, one size fits all cannot cover such a
big smart phone market these days. |

fragmentation is a forbidden word in Apple world.

Samsung said that first 100 days sold 20M S3.
So, 58M number definitely for all Samsung smart phones, may be even include
those semi-smart phones using none Android OS.

That's very possible. That's the important reason that
iOS is smoother and faster than Android. However, when
CPU becomes more and more powerful, the additional smooth
and fast is not that meaningful. Removing those kinds
of restriction becomes more important. Apple long terms
even has plan to make CPU for its own MacAir, so Apple
has to make the changes to remove this kind of restriction
eventually. It is just matter of time.
Apple has grown too big, and smart phones business also has grown
bigger and will continue grow bigger. In order to maintain
its growth ratio, it has to have different models to
fit from the need from different people.
