Chinas 22 year old Xu Xin really put the question to the Chinese management
during China Open in Shanghai: Do China really send their best players to
the Olympics in London? Xu beat Zhang Jike in the semis and Ma Long in the
finals, both in six games.
STIGA player Xu Xin has always been an extremely promising talent, and the
number one among the Worlds under 21. During the last week in Korea Open and
this week in China Open it seems like he has taken his quality as a player
to a new level. In Korea Xu lost the finals with two balls in the seventh
game against Zhang Jike, but in Shanghai he beat both the ruling World
champion and the more or less unbeatable Ma Long. And how Xu Xin did it!
Actually he proved he is up there now among the very top.
Before he could do great performances, but there was always a sort of Korean
-warning in his way to play, meaning he run a lot with his forehand, not
really playing consistent and hard enough from the backhand corner with his
backhand. But in China two things seem really organic included in the game
which they were not so obvious before: the receives and the backhand. Both
against Zhang Jike and Ma Long Xu Xin stayed close to the table and really
challenged the team mates backhand to backhand, playing his shoots hard both
down the line and cross court. The combination of rich variated services,
often incredible short and low receives and a powerful backhand were too
much for the number two and number one ranked in the world. And the
beautiful forehand and the quick footwork of course worked brilliant as
always.
All together the complete style of playing raised Xu Xin to a new level in
his game. And it seemed very clear this level of playing is not an exception
, no, the steadiness and mental determination was there, so it seems like
this is how good he is now, Mr Xu Xin.
“I was happy to enjoy home advantage given that I originally came from the
Shanghai Team”, said Xu Xin, to ITTF′s website, after winning 6-11, 11-5,
12-10, 9-11, 11-7, 11-4. “The crowd really supported me; I am really
pleased with my current form, although I still have a great deal to learn
from my teammates who have been selected to participate in the Olympics.”
And if anyone hesitated on the pick of Xu Xin as the substitute and number
four in China′s team to the coming Olympics in London, he or she can stop
hesitating now. The only question is if not team captain Liu Guoliang starts
to regret that Xu Xin ought to be even a member of the team when it comes
down to the Olympics in July/August. | p**o

吊儿郎当的习气改了不少。始终都很FOCUS这个是他最喜人的进步。 | P****S

许昕站位比以前近台？主动形成反手位直线相持？接发球质量提高？
许昕会有主场战斗力加成？
他不说，我不会注意到。我只注意到许昕在尝试新打法，前途无量。
