今天早晨刚刚醒的时候心率41BPM,比两个
月前的153BPM降乐12BMP。不知道是心
肺功能加强乐,还是太劳累乐。
Here are some more info:
我的一小时5MPH HR went from 155BPM down
to ~140BMP during past two months.
Now 5.5MPH HR is about 150BPM, and 6MPH
HR is about 165BPM.

My max HR is around 210bpm.
My HR can easily shoot up to above 200bpm,
Before I started LHR training, my regular
running HR was 175 - 200 or so. But I had to stop
running to walk very very often. So earlier my
running was indeed roughly 9-12mph + walking,
kind of interval training style. To be honest,
before I came to here, I had no idea how to run
long distance.

My endurance system has not been well developed yet.
Also I am very much over weight still.
I had a 3.5 hour gym time this afternoon on treadmill.
I had a whole day off (taper) yesterday. Early HR for 'now'
was in a hot gym and without any taper during my holiday-stay
in another city.
To my great surprise, here are what I got in my regular cool
gym with the same treadmill:
After 20min fast walk, run 5.0mph for 30min, average HR
133bpm, max HR peak 139bpm for totally several seconds.
HR was higher at the very beginning because of insufficient
warmup.
Then had a restroom break, followed by a 5.5mph for 20min
with HR peak 147bpm for several seconds, and average 142bpm.
Then a drinking break, followed by 1 hour of 6mph with HR
peak @ 157bpm for several seconds (drinking) average 152bpm.
HR was well saturated (flat and stable) toward the end.
After that, without a break, run at 6.5mph for 20min, max HR
167bpm for several seconds, average 163bpm.
Then down to 5.0mph again for 20min, HR was between 144 and
148bpm, still going down slowly toward the end -- This is
about 10bpm higher than started fresh. I was already very hungry
at this time -- I did not have any energy intake, only two bottles
of zero calorie Propel and some fountain water.
Rest is walking.
I did all these to check if my new rest HR was because of over
training (I could die if rest HR goes too slow) or endurance improvement. To
my great relieve and happy surprise, the results
show that my HR values went down greatly at all running paces!
By the way, I still have about 30+LB to lose before I get back in
shape. There is no way to have low HR while carrying this extra
weight running at fast pace. My starting point of running was to
lose weight, but now I love it. My body weight is almost 20LB
lower than 6 months ago when I just started running. I have been
controlling my weight loss to a very slow rate to keep healthy.

now. According to Garmin software (TC), ~6mph
speed is still jogging, 7mph is slow run. So I
will be able to claim that I 'run' long distance
officially then.
By the way, I had a chat with my boss who run
7.5mph pace for local half ironman every year.
He is close to 60 years old. When I told him I
was able to run at 6mph for 2 hours without stop,
he kindly correct me like this, 'You mean jogging?'
But he then kind of challenged/encouraged me, 'OK,
I will see you in the Fall ironman.' He knew I
could not run a single mile without walk breaks before
last summer. He told me, when I just started running,
that long run can change someone to a better person
in many aspects.

根据九阴真经,overtraining 的第三个stage:parasympathetic overtraining,
resting heart rate 反而会降低。

最高心率是不是岁年龄增长而下降?我好像从来没有到过190以上

Thanks:)
I used to run too fast relative to my aerobic ability, sometimes
over 12mph. I did not know how to train/run long and fast. Only
thought that I needed to train at over 10mph and pushing the distance
longer and longer. Totally the wrong approach.
Also I was not in shape because of overweight due to little exercises
during the past 4+ years. I was very weak physically.

This is what I worried. But since my HR has decreased significantly
at all speeds I tested, I am not that worry now.
I will take some easy days and see what will happen. Thanks for the
info/concern.

Guess so.
I used to anaerobic sports, including serious weightlifting,
badminton,... Guess this is why I have high max HR.

I googled what Dr. Phil's says and copied here,
and hopefully to help those who might have the
problem, including myself:
Stage 3: Parasympathetic Overtraining
Chronic overtraining can lead to more serious
hormonal, neurological and mechanical
imbalances (which continue to parallel adrenal
dysfunction and aerobic deficiency). Eventually,
the sympathetic nervous system becomes
exhausted, and most if not all hormone levels are
significantly reduced, including cortisol.
Stage 3 is typically accompanied by the lack of
desire to compete (and sometimes train),
depression, significant injury and most notably
exhaustion. Performance may diminish
considerably and many athletes in this state
consider themselves “sidelined.”
The MAF Test has usually regressed dramatically
and plateaued at a poor level. This condition is
associated with abnormally low resting heart rates
and low heart-rate recovery from interval training
or competition. (Some continue to misinterpret the
low heart rate as a good sign.) The hormonal
problems may result in increased sodium loss due
to reduced aldosterone and may increase the
athlete’s vulnerability to hyponatremia – a serious
condition of low sodium (although this condition
can also appear in Stage 2).
I do not have "The MAF Test has usually regressed
dramatically and plateaued at a poor level." So
I guess I am OK, but need to be cautious. Thanks

By the way, when I just started long run and knew
run slow, I had the same problem of "cannot run
slow" as Dr. Phil pointed. But eventually I learned
how to run slow. It was just because my endurance
system was too poor at that time.

hmm, my morning hr is always in the 40s, sometimes upper 30s...

12mph was, and still is, well beyond my aerobic
capability. So the harder I trained at this level,
the stronger my anaerobic system became, and my
aerobic system got worse. As a result, whenever
my exercise volume went down, for example, when
work became busy, my body weight shot up to the
sky. I once was over 210LB!
After about half year of long run, especially
recent two months of low intensity training, I
know I am now a fat burning machine. From my calorie
burning numbers recorded by the HR monitor, I can
roughly know how much fat I burned every week.
The body weight decreasing directly measured by body-weight
scales agrees approximately. During the past week,
I lost ~2LB, a little too fast, but I will not be able
to afford this training volume from tomorrow due to
my coming busy schedule. My goal is 1LB loss per week from
now on till summer.
