to me of coz) right now is zynga, as it's expanding its business in both
Beijing and Bangalore aggressively - which means they got long-term
sustained plan for the lines of business, and cash-flow is positive/healthy.

funded only because of their facebook legacy. They are still good startups
nonetheless only because silicon valley lacks of real innovations these
days.
Zynga is a story that made me scratching my head. It's the fastest growth
story in tech history (yes -- google/apple/facebook included) and it's
already massively big. But gaming is a fad business. Is Zynga a fad too? I
don't know.

m*******i 发帖数: 8711 | 5 Gaming is not a fad business. Just look at Tencent.
People love to spend a small fortune to have instant gratification. Just
look at Starbucks, why people want to spenf $3 every day for a plain latte?
Its coffee is not even that good. |
m*******i 发帖数: 8711 | 6 I won't call Zynga the hottest. Its revenue is approaching $1B this year but
its value on private market is only $2.7B. It seems investors have a lot of
reservation on the quality of its revenue. |
n******h 发帖数: 2482 | 7 gaming industry is not a fad but every game is a fad. you have to keep
churning out good games to stay relative -- and that's a very hard thing
to do.
tencent draws their money out of gaming and other stuff but their core
value lies in their QQ communication network, which allows them
continuously milking the cow in a variety of ways. same story as facebook
etc.
the analogy to starbucks is not right. the correct question is not "why
coffee" but "why starbucks". similarly it's not "why trivial ga

projection).

generated, they can easily acquire their copycats in other countries/markets
then dominate them.
