The biggest problem is that very few people use it often; so there is no
rosy picture to imagin how it can make tons of money in the future. Plus,
engineering quality wise, it is the weakest among mainstream social networks.

complete member profiles of the
most valuable demographics (mostly white collars with good income). Data is
king. the future for linkedin is
better than rosy.
unlike other social networks, advertisement is only a small portion of
linkedin revenue, so user engagement will
not hurt it much. Think about that ordinary americans change jobs every 4
years, even if linkedin only makes
$100 for each job position, it is a huge number.
as for engineering, i think doing recommendation, ad targeting, scalability,
etc for 100M+ users do require lots
of engineering talent.

2 year ago the strike price is 7, and they told my friend last year it is
not going to much higher last year when they extend the offer
however, last year, the board give strike price 16
so 5000 is nothing at all even it is sold at 30 on sharepost
btw, sharepost do have auction so anyone can buy it

afaik you have to be an SEC accredited investor in order to buy stocks on
sharespost.

search why GS cancelled the FB offering to its US clients.
to buy linkedin shares, one has to be:
1）an existing linkedin shareholder, and
2) an accredited investor
