This is the deposit money for the state to recycle those containers. All
merchants need to report CRV money collected from consumers and deposit it
to a designated state "recycling fund" account.
When you go any recycling station, they refund you the CRV deposit that you
paid at purchase. That fund money comes from the state's "Recycling Fund"
account. So, this money is your money, not from the state or anyone. The
recycling stations pay you on the basis of weight and they claim that from
the state's account.
When we are talking about the waste management company, it is kind of a
twisted view I think. They charge residence a flat fee to manage the wastes;
however, for all those recyclables, if they manage it wisely, they could
have sort all those bottles and get money out it. I may be wrong on that
part, but this is my speculation. So, we are paying the Waste Management
company on the monthly fees and providing them with extra money on those
bottles. That being said, the waste management company wouldn't bother too
much whether or not a residence has a lot of bottles for them.
I think the most controversial point on the recent highly debated seniors
digging through residential trash bin/recycle bin is whether it is
appropriate to do so in light of privacy.
Like what I post yesterday, I strongly think it is our responsibility to
communicate with our parents on what can be picked and what can't.
There is some check and balance we have to follow and this is simply not
right to dig through trash/recycle bins that don't belong to you. We may
have all different situations to look at, but living with fundamental value
is a self respect. |
