There is another rule if you have to declare in your tax return of your
foreign incomes if you have more than 10000 to come in. IRS is already
cracking down the non-declared foreign incomes, one of my colleague was
already caught forced to file some separate forms with IRS when she bring
money from India.
The suggestion from her is if you have foreign income did not show up in
your tax before, spend it outside of U.S. There was lots of hassle to
explain to IRS unless you enjoys the experience (BTW, she is U.S. citizen, and worst case of messing up this is go to jail).
On the other hands, if your parents aren't U.S. citizen, it is NOT a problem as they have no tax relationship here.
