VANCOUVER -- Pickets were expected to go up at major terminals of British
Columbia Ferries today for the opening of a strike by unionized workers.
All ferry service except northern and Mill Bay routes will be affected, the
company said yesterday. All reservations and assured loading will be
suspended.
"If you're a ferry-dependent community, it affects everyone," said David Hahn,
