发帖数: 2351 | 2 Celeste figs came in a couple weeks earlier than the brown turkey figs. Good
when you have enough but when they first started bearing I had to freeze
the celeste to wait for the brown turkeys to have enough to process. The
celestes were sweeter than the brown turkey.
Celeste figs were a bit darker when ripe and I fight with the birds over
fruit. The darker figs seem to have more bird problems. (Best for that
problem was a light colored fig developed in Louisiana, the name escapes me
right now.)
The celeste trees seemed to grow faster by a small bit than the brown
turkeys but that could simply have been placement. I don't know about
watering. The Florida sand means water everything frequently if you want it
to live.
网上搜了一下，看起来Celeste figs 成熟早，甜，但是颜色深，容易招鸟偷吃。brown
turkey fig大，颜色浅，但是不那么甜。
大家讲讲你们的体会，哪种好？我附加的LOWES只有一棵Celeste fig，但是有很多棵
brown turkeys ，得动作快点，否则就没有选择了。 |

pulp. It has a small closed eye which inhibits the entry of insects and
helps prevent fruit spoilage. The eye remains green until the fig is nearly
ripe, unlike 'Brown Turkey' and 'Texas Everbearing.' It is an excellent
small fig, one of the better figs for the eastern and northern parts of
Texas. It does not seem to do as well in drier areas, such as West and South
Texas. This is the most cold hardy of this group of figs, but when it comes
to hot weather it will suffer a little unless it is kept watered. 'Celeste'
does not have an early (breba) crop, only the main crop that usually starts
ripening in late July.

It produces two crops a year with good cultural conditions, one in late May-
June and another in late September to early November. It has a broad-
spreading tree shape. The leaves have five lobes as opposed to the three-
lobed leaves of many figs. |

发帖数: 874 | 5 我两种都有，不过这个卖的有点贵，不知道多大的。celeste的好处就是植株小，更适
合盆栽。这2种都适合在比较冷的地方种，不过有人不喜欢brown turkey的味道。我觉
得都很好吃，去年我的2棵brown turkey接了很多，celeste还小，但是有一种所谓的
improved celeste据说更好些。所谓两次，一次是breba一次是main crop, 这两种无花
果breba的质量不很高。有的品种是主要吃breba的。我的意见就是如果有地方，就都买
来试试。而且fig非常容易繁殖. |

70刀呢，所以感觉还行。再去HD看看，如果HD有，就在HD买，不过估计价格也很难下来。

发帖数: 874 | 7 你去youtube上搜一下，各种办法。成活率最高的是air laying。插枝也可以，但是时
间要对，这样容易生根。 |

夏天枝条插沙土里，很快就生根了

有其他品种。最好还是一年有两次的，国内有老人过来待上半年总能碰上一次结果的。

Among the best varieties for brebas in my garden are Desert King, Brooklyn
White, Breva de Galicia, Matta, Byadi, Lebanese White, and Naples white. |

发帖数: 2351 | 14 转了一圈，发现本地只有BROWN TURKEY FIG，另外CELESTE FIG只在LOWES找到一棵。在
WALMART只有BROWN TURKEY FIG卖，还要23刀，就买了一盆，小声点说，这盆里除了有
颗大的，还有一棵小的，我花23买到了2棵。
CELESTE FIG以后再说吧，毕竟一年只有一季果子。 |
