Dorothy Hawkins, 69, of the South Chicago neighborhood, died of heart

钨丝灯胆、并已被广泛使用的「紧凑型节能荧光灯泡」(CFL)悭电胆，在亮灯过程中会
释放致癌物质「酚」(Phenol)，呼吁民众停止使用。不过，香港环境保护署只称会了解
报告，未有交代会否对市面发售的悭电胆进行检测。绿色和平批评当局对悭电胆政策虎
头蛇尾，直斥当局有责任主动跟进调查，以释除市民疑虑。
英国《每日快报》网站引述一项在德国进行的独立研究报告指出，德国科学家发现CFL
悭电胆除了含水银成分外，原来在使用期间会释放出多种致癌化学物质，当中包括酚，
并会透过亮灯过程中所产生的热力和蒸气，释放和苯乙烯两种毒素。
进行该项研究的专家建议停用或尽量减少使用悭电胆，尤其应避免让头部接近，例如切
勿以悭电胆作为儿童的夜明灯，或成人睡前阅读的头灯等，因为长期及近距离与悭电
胆接触，都会增加患癌风险。
英国环境当局仍坚称悭电胆是安全的，当地大学的环境科学家亦出言力撑使用悭电胆的
风险很低，民众毋须过分忧虑，又说需要进一步研究去支持德国科学家的论点。
