farming started is a hotly debated issue.
One thing is for sure, Chinese didn't invent farming, because earliest

higher. USDA put a lot of farmland to idle to keep relatively stable
agricultural output.
Agricultural production (machinary, breeding etc) is based on high tech and
nobody can beat it.
Another resource: precipitation is ideal for many part of US and US has
plenty of fresh water. For example, US great lakes contain 24% of total
freshwater in the world.
