这就是他妈的保险。
多找几家保险公司，有很多你没听说过的。geico progressive这些大家都知道所以贵
。我在用过哈佛合作的metlife，还用过好像是麻省自己的plymouth rock，现在在用跟
costco合作的Ameriprise。一个比一个便宜。 |

每次想换，去别急拿 quote, 价格都比 AAA 贵。 所以就一直没换。
AAA 汽车保险是 最好的，这个是所有修理厂商，车祸律师/医生 共认的。
第二是 Costco 卖的 Ameriprise.
接下来就不知道是哪家较好。 我又不想换特别烂的保险公司。
有经验的说说，哪家保险公司价格便宜，服务还可以的 ? |

traditional不行，这是为什么我前面问了一下。
Fidelity有一些mutual fund平均回报率有十几个百分点，比TIAA-CREF的要好。

，10年内不会使用、收益会重新投入本金。我咨询了一圈local能找到的wealth
management/financial advisor，挑花了眼，大概情况如下：
1、Merrill Lynch Wealth Management，找了一个local的office面谈，开户要求25W，
年管理费1-1.5%，感觉策略是偏保守、谨慎的，和我说5年-10年的年均收益7%左右；
2、Ameriprise，也找到一个local的office面谈，无开户要求，年管理费1.5%，热衷的
策略是偏aggressive的（极力不推荐bond）,给我了几个proposal，5年年均收益7%左右
，10年年均收益10%左右。总体感觉，他们的视角比较全面，从养老、保险、投资是结
合起来的，对于我提出的税、legal方面的问题都非常积极的讨论，并且现场联线熟悉
的律师，为我提供初步意见。另外，强调他们是christian, 有很高的ethical
standard，他管理客户钱就像是对待自己母亲的积蓄；

的背景，几乎没有学金融或者经济的，大多数都是家庭妇女改行去干的。基本是
培训几节课考了证就上岗。他们接受的培训清一色全是销售培训。你觉得他们能

be out of line (especially if they try to avoid bonds despite your long term
horizon and mention of insurance products).
yangqi's comments and the use of fee-based advisors worth your
considerations.
Income tax is a factor you need to consider (but don't worry about estate
tax unless your current individual asset is already over $5M or family asset
over $10M). |

去Charles Schwab咨询时，他们多次强调他们是non-commission-based，就是他们不
underwrite任何bond之类的投资、不通过帮客户买某种投资而拿到回扣。而我问他们是
不是fee-only，他们没有给直接的回答。
另外，我也询问Charles Schwab的人怎么比较他们和其他brokerage，他们说:
1 Merrill Lynch绝对是commission-based的，除了trade fee, annual management
fee之外，还有隐形的由于underwrite得到的commission；
2 多数银行提供的brokerage，也是commission-based，所以每个银行都有相对固定合
作的investment group；
3 Ameriprise之类的，有可能也是commission-based的，而且可能会在bond价格是做文

有些同学问猎头的事，就我的个人经验，猎头对NEW GRAD一点都不感冒，我的唯一一个
通过猎头得来的机会是上面提到的AKAMAI，还是我先海投了他们家的一个CONTRACTOR职
位，然后那个职位没有了，他们手里又多了些AKAMAI的职位
找工其实就是随机MATCH的过程，你不知道哪天就突然MATCH上了，所以，一定坚持到
MATCH上的那一天！

再找NJM办，大概花了三四个星期才把材料准备完，然后取消掉Costco的。如果同时买
Auto/Home，auto可以省15%. |

申请home insurance时因为有车保险，所以有$90多的discount；今天回头给车保险部
门打电话说我们办了你家的home insurance了，能不能给我们车保优惠啊，客服查了查
，就给了每半年$80多的discount。
传说中的和costco有联系的ameriprise并不便宜，可能因为我们车有过事故历史。 |
