是可以65k以上？
另外收到了四大的tax association offer， 现在决定不了去哪一个。四大的工资当然
底一点，但是在里面工作两三年的经历会对以后有帮助。可是我以后是想要当
financial analyst的，现在已经有了这个offer了，是否还需要到四大去经历一番呢？

历找工作，连个电话面试都没有。真是抓狂。希望版上好心人介绍一份entry level的
工作
以下两方面的工作：
1. 会计工作，国内会计专业毕业, 在德国oracle有半年的会计实习，但是quickbook什
么的都没有用过。前辈们指教一下湾区哪里学会计软件性价比比较高。
2. Financial Analyst工作，CFA2级通过了，博士期间拿的是大学的半职，做了3年的
research analyst，会理财建模， 熟练运用SPSS，Stata。

面试的时候，我觉得语言方面最高要求也就是python+R了。

堆数据瞎分析根本就是做无用功。做统计的时候也一样，无脑上模型只会搞出来一堆垃
圾。
data analyst职业最大的问题是，这个世界其实没那么多数据需要你分析，或者说在某
个公司没有那么多数据需要分析。我不是指的数据的量不多，而是需要你去model的规
律其实没那么多。牛人整了一通发现个规律，然后呢？整下一条还一样容易？总不能一
天到晚把新数据照老方法再run一遍吧？换个公司、换个行业也许有新的东西等你去发
现，但先前的规律能不能用的上、能不能让用(知识产权问题)是个问题，而且过不多时
同样问题又会出现，或者有东西被发现（很小概率），或者啃不掉硬骨头回归无趣。做
data跟academia搞研究很像，但是跟后者的系统性差得那是天渊之别。
总之，data analyst有需求，但是需求瓶颈是有的，无论从个人兴趣还是市场需求来讲
。做software的，则像盖房子的工人，房子会折旧、破损，新的需求持续不断。 |

本人现在在illilois一个小学校教数学(visiting assistant professor)，因为家里
都是老师，所以以前一直是在往学校发展，没有做过实习，现在觉得自己还是不适合做
老师，决定往业界发展。 本科和phd都是数学，研究生有ms applied math, 统计的
minor, 期间也修了不少统计的课，学校也还不错。research比较理论，做pde的，最近
恶补了一下machine learning，上了stanford 的online 课程。
编程主要是matlab，sas, R,最近考了sas advance, SAS Certified Statistical
Business Analyst，对Predictive Modeling Using Logistic Regression,
Experimental Design了解比较多，time series也知道一些。

发帖数: 410 | 34 本人背景是Computer Engineering的PhD，没有做过什么项目管理，但是在外面经常开
会做presentation，认识的业界的人比较多，性格比较讨巧，所以research一直很顺利
，paper也有不少。编程比较一般，因为主要都是比较high-level的那种设计，理论为
主。之前的本科和master都是通信的信号处理什么的，统计阿，概率，R, SQL那些没问
题。口语写作在学术环境算不错，但是在商业环境中的英语完全跟学术界不是一个概念
的，女生，性格比较外向，但感觉自己并不完全是people person, 也不完全是做纯技
术的，属于4:6那样。之前做过大概一年的软件开发，对于scrum什么的都有实际经验。
但是非常不喜欢编程，所以这次找工作都没有考虑任何dev的职位. 对了，家里还有小娃
一个。
最近面临一个艰难的抉择，两个都是200人左右规模的小公司都在迅速grow。

我对于游戏不感兴趣，但是对于consumer based 的online product很感兴趣，比如做
数据分析研究怎么improve user engagement, grow user base这类，觉得很有意思，
当然啦，我以前没做过。
你提到的关于TPM的问题，看得我心惊胆颤阿。。。我不会玩政治，也不会你说的那些
内斗扯皮。。。如果只是做好本职工作，是不是还远远不够阿？其实我上一份工作就被
办公室政治搞过，血淋淋的经历阿。。。
至于ipo，倒是无所谓的，我就指望着能有份自己能胜任的并且喜欢的市场价的工作就
很满足了。我觉得普通员工，ipo能捞到钱的是少数，这方面没有什么expectation，所
以就不考虑了。
如果从前景来看，究竟做tpm和做data analyst哪个机会更多呢？我也知道是apple vs.
pear的问题，但是必须想清楚阿。感觉data analyst的话是说得特别热门，但是我找
工作的时候觉得职位比dev少多了。tpm没有认真找过，不太清楚究竟机会多不多。 |

另外想再请教下chairsky和Charles,如果在银行还是做普通的credit review,而不是整
个部门的risk management (用CCAR什么的），这样是不是回国真的不行？目前正好有
个这样的电面。reporting associate是不是也最好别去？
另外，有点不解，其实我觉得credit review和equity research似乎经验差不多呢。我
每天做大公司的credit review,bloomberg follow company,除了不valuation，感觉和
equity analyst, research analyst的工作差不呢。 |

之所以是另类，请听我慢慢道来：
大妈的理想职业是这样的：
1） 自由支配时间，一周工作不超过20小时，最好是可以telecommunicate，大妈实在
是不喜欢朝9晚5。
part－time的在家里的工作最适合我。
2） 工作最好不要太stressful。 工作时间内把工作做完就不再想着了。
3） 要求不高，只要能养活自己，一年还能有点余钱度个假期啊啥的。也没想着能
climb the career ladder，哪天变的高大上之类的。 就是说，要是在饭店当服务员可
以在家里的网上当，大妈也愿意。可没有这样的工作。
4） 大妈的学习能力是超强的，国内本科和美国的研究生都是top 5理科名校毕业的。
以前有较强的数理背景。对枯燥的数据之类的也不反感。
5）有绿卡，所以不用担心身份的问题。
6） 最近看了database analyst 的工作，觉得可行。就是没经验，大妈也不介意从头

我现在是在金融机构做data analyst，skill set主要
就是sql和sas，加上统计科班出生，学过machine learning,短时间应该可以加强一下。
我个人总结了一下这一类职位可能会问到问题有下面几种：
1. business case。类似于consulting firm的面试
2. statistics/probability。比如说简单的方差分布，假设检验，回归分析
3. Machine Learning。简单的话谈谈对logistic regression,svm,decision tree的了
解，再深入的话感觉BA应该不会问到
4. SQL。这个肯定是会重点考察的
5. 算法题。这个应该data scientist才会考吧？
6. BI TOOL。因为是在BI组，会不会考对microstrategy, tableau,甚至是EXCEL VBA的
了解呢？
