Washington -The Treasury Department says in a new report the government
expects to lose more than $25 billion on the $85 billion auto bailout. That'
s 15 percent higher than its previous forecast.
In a monthly report sent to Congress on Friday, the Obama administration
boosted its forecast of expected losses by more than $3.3 billion to almost
$25.1 billion, up from $21.7 billion in the last quarterly update.

WASHINGTON — The Postal Service said Friday it lost $8.5 billion last year
despite deep cuts of more than 100,000 jobs and other reductions in recent
years.
The post office had estimated it would lose $6 billion to $7 billion, but a
sharp decline in mail took a toll. Increased use of the Internet and the
recession, which cut advertising and other business mail, meant less money
for the agency.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Jerry Brown proposed more than $8
billion in cuts Monday to close a widening state budget deficit that he
blamed partly on a slower-than-expected economic recovery.
In addition to making cuts to a wide array of state services, Brown wants
state workers to take a 5 percent pay cut, which would save $402 million in

Mutual fund outflows were almost $8.5 billion in the week ended Dec. 15,
according to the Investment Company Institute.
But foreign stock funds had net inflows of more than $2.2 billion, a jump
from the previous week’s $1.8 billion.
Domestic equity funds, by contrast, had outflows of $2.4 billion. That was
down from the prior week’s $2.7 billion.
Total bond fund outflows surged past $8.6 billion, up from $1.7 billion a

CNN) -- A rogue trader has cost UBS an estimated $2 billion, the Swiss
banking giant announced Thursday, revealing what could be the third-largest
loss of its kind in banking history.
A $2 billion rogue trading loss would be all but unprecedented, market

exports fell for a third straight month, reflecting the pressures of a
stronger dollar and spreading global weakness. Those factors contributed to
the first annual drop in U.S. export sales since the Great Recession shrank

Wall Street banks have had profitable quarters. JPMorgan Chase reported $3.6
billion in profit (more than $1 billion per month). Goldman Sachs was only
slightly behind, at $3.2 billion. These profits supposedly came from “

US taxpayer loans GM 50 billions. 42 billions swaps into 61% of GM stocks
and remaining 8 billions as a loan with interest 7%. When GM returns 8
billions, the loan part is paid off in full with interest. Does tax payer
get back all the money? Not yet. It is not clear how much 61% stake of US
taxpayer in the new GM worths. It may worth less than 42 billions.
But it can not spin that news into a bad news for taxpayer like right wing
nuts. It is a good news no matter what. were this right wing nuts
