正在干。如果你想读个CS的博士去学术界混饭吃，那是跟自己过不去。简单讲你没有优
势。比如你喜欢的图形学，假设你有生物，医学之类的背景可以搞bioimage。你说说你
物理背景能帮上你什么。跨专业混学术界的另一个问题是文化背景问题。当年
bioinformatics热的时候，有相当一部分学生物的搞到了CS的faculty位置。然后问题
就来了，他们以为对CS的学生是可以像对生物学生一样的。结果可想而知。 |

发帖数: 903 | 23 bioimage 热的主要是做脑图像那部分。奥总统前段时间表示要在这个领域投入大量资
金，结果在学术界引起连锁反应。比如加州有个大学把另一个大学100多人的组整个给
挖过去了。
CS有相当一部分领域和数学相关，所以学数学那帮人的脾气，相当一部分被CS的人给继
承过来了。再加上CS的工作不难找，有工业界的靠山在，CS的学生说话底气是很足的。
即使在学生时期，CS的研究生在校内找份工打也不难。而且CS很容易单干，一个人做完
所有的部分是完全可能的。
所以生物的背景的faculty过来，就很容易水土不服。
物理背景过来在CS读个Master的很多，而且毕业后就靠这个Master找份工作。但是到CS
拿博士，做faculty的，真的不多。

发帖数: 265 | 25 化升的计算机部分大概是理论计算机科学（TCS）吧。。。不过我觉得这部分基本上属
于brain exercise级别的个人娱乐了，虽说超有趣但生物不太用的上。。。。哈哈哈
我觉得学啥取决于做啥：
做bioimaging，
应该学光学，信号与系统，DSP，优化，数值，Information Theory, Computer Vision，
Machine Learning
做Modeling的，
应该学数理方法，ODE/PDE, 随机过程，控制论，信号与系统
做Genomics的，
本科的CS知识+数量遗传学+概率统计+Machine Learning就差不多了
有的东西有先修，比如没线代不大好学CV/ML/多元统计之类的东西。。。
有的东西要做高端需要额外的数学，不过我觉得大多数本科的applied math的东西就足
够了
说说我了解的入门教材，
信号与系统/DSP 首推oppenheim的Signal and System/Discrete-Time Signal

不过你提的问题都是不错的问题，也确实是目前MALDI imaging存在的问题
不过还是那句话，LC/MS不是万能的，MALDI imaging确实是有力的补充
in situ的检测还是跟萃取得到不一样的信息的，比如萃取可能会破坏一些native
conformation,有时native conformation disorder才是关键。
另外有时biomaker分布才是关键，如果萃取的话，
每一块tissue都dissect出来还是比直接imaging烦很多
现在的MALDI的速度跟自动化程度，跟数据处理都提高很多了，
imaging的速度很快，关键是样品制备，也比以前快跟容易很多
还有你前面说的定量的问题，也不是不可以解决的
另外现在imaging 慢慢开始朝bioimaging以外的方向发展，这些都蛮有意思的
总之，不是一无是处，还是有research的意义所在的
imaging |

发帖数: 26 | 37 最近拿到了ECE Top20 Program的PhD Offer，方向为Bioinformatics，基本上是
bioimaging的方向，做Computer Vision和Pattern Recognition的，导师不是大牛，成
长中，我看该组的毕业生基本上都在本组做博后。
本人国内硕士毕业，在国内做的个人觉得是小科研，也是PR相关的算法，编程能力不是
很强，英语不错，因为年纪不小了，以后打算Faculty了，但是不知道Faculty的生活适
不适合自己，因为个人觉得国内国外做Faculty的差距还是很大的，国内有些Faculty很
轻松。自己性格属于动静结合那种，比较喜欢与人打交道，闲了就爱遐想。
在等Offer的时候在国内找到了一个工作，世界500强的电信外企，做技术支持，年薪
18W左右。由于现在这段时间没什么事情，同学又都工作了，心里有些烦，5年的博士之
后还要面对找工作，那时候已经30多了，觉得有些没信心，尤其是在industry。放弃和
PhD这个Offer意味着再没有机会读书了，又有些舍不得。
请教各位Bioinformatics找方向工作怎么样呢？Faculty的职 |

发帖数: 433 | 39 其实好多bioimaging也分, 有medical imaging和 molecular imaging. medical那个墩
得主要都是做核磁得把, 但是感觉理论性太强了点. 最近联系个做nanomedicine得中国
人, 算是bme坑里得, 不看不知道居然NHLBI和NEI得两个grant加起来8位数都有余了.
而且还没什么therapeutics就是做这种in vivo detection和diagnostic就开了好几个
公司, 从mRNA到cancer biomarker. 而且感觉在牛校BioE/BME这些坑里面得中国人比传
统得化学这些要多. 总之阿我觉得学物化背景做medical imaging合适, 有机背景
molecular imaging更好一些. |
