的BUY-OUT的消息，引起了我狮扇子们的高度关注。加上前面传出的HOUSTON TEXANS等
NFL球队对O'BRIEN有兴趣的消息/谣言，使得下赛季O'BRIEN是否会继续执教我狮成了当
前的热点话题之一。对此，作如下分析。
这则报道我其实觉得有点奇怪，因为感觉上有点“没新闻造新闻”的意思，里面提到的
19个MILLION的BUY-OUT降到6个MILLION并不是最新发生的，而是O’BRIEN第一赛季结束
后修改CONTRACT时就定好的。现在并没有哪个NFL球队正式OFFER，O’BRIEN也没有
INTERVIEW哪个NFL球队，所以说还没有真正的BREAKING NEWS。
O’BRIEN去年和今年在我狮干的不错，但这是在一种很特殊的情况下发生的，不具有可
比性，也不好简单推论，说一切恢复正常后他就一定能带我狮拿到冠军。尽管如此，他

O'BRIEN在大学干过一段时间，包括GT和DUKE，成绩平淡，没什么出彩的地方。后来去
了NFL，在PATS干了几年，从POSITION COACH干到了OC。由于有天下第一智慧教练比利
小鸡在，所以他这个OC起到多大作用也是个谜。更何况，查胖子在ND的前车之鉴记忆犹
新，所以很多人对他的能力画了个大大的问号。给人印象比较深的是电视转播抓到了他
在SIDELINE和TOM BRADY的一次冲突。
去年JOE PA被炒鱿鱼后，PSU全国找教练，那时也是RUMOR满天飞。现在回想一下，当时
的PSU主教练的职位的确有些TOXIC，很多大牌教练有顾虑，包括一些PSU的ALUMNI。本
来PSU的主教练如果OPEN了，绝对是很有吸引力的位子。可惜啊！
JOYNER是当时的教练搜索委员会主任，也是代管整个AD的。估计面试的时候O'BRIEN表
现很好，所以被HIRE了。其实当时来自NFL应聘的OC/DC级别的人还有好几个，包括绿湾
包装工队等。

发帖数: 2682 | 4 PSU的扇子都知道，JOE PA在60年代末到90年代中后期，是一个ELITE LEVEL的教练。2
次NC，2次很有争议的全国第2（94年那次，还有69年TEXAS被总统NIXON选为冠军那次）
，另外还有2个赛季全胜。但进入21世纪后，JOE PA的总体情况实际已不足以胜任向PSU
这样一个POWERHOUSE PROGRAM的主教练位置了。别的不说，ENERGY LEVEL明显不足，而
且不足的厉害！
这恰恰是新任主教练O'BRIEN突出的一点，典型例证就是去年春天和现在正在进行的两
次PSU教练大篷车之旅（COACH CARAVAN）。
所谓大篷车之旅，就是一群人开着车在PSU的传统影响区巡游，在一些点停下来搞活动
，包括和扇子们互动、演讲、接受采访、筹款、参加校友会等。需要说明的是，这是
PSU COACH大篷车，不是O'BRIEN自己的大篷车之旅，因为同行的还有其他教练。当然，
他肯定是关注的焦点。
类似这样的事情，不直接反映在W-L上，但对于一个PROGRAM的长期发展和战略储备非常
有意义。所以说现在的CFB是一个系统工程，浮在水面上的就是胜负、碗赛、NC等，真

讲：
1、BASE工资2013比2012涨了约100万，现在是1.9个MILLION，可是2014还会跌回去。呵
呵，挺奇怪的
2、乱七八糟加一起，O'BRIEN今年能赚4个MILLION稍微不到一点
3、O'BRIEN跳槽的BUY-OUT有所减少
4、合同期限缩短，基本上正好覆盖到SANCTION结束
不少扇子认为，潜台词是：O'BRIEN带PSU挺过SANCTION，然后可能跳到NFL去。 |

Brien can have a decent year in 2012 and he gets a decent job offer
somewhere else, he should bolt. Staying at Penn State could be career
suicide, as far as head coaching jobs go。当时PSU找主教练，想找一个alumni，
就是想到了可能会这样，Alumni有更多理由，更大可能能够撑下这几年。PSU不出意外
的话，至少10-12年才能在big 10拿到50%胜率，这对O'Brien这样的年轻教练太残酷了
，而且如果我没记错的话，PSU给O'Brien的工资也挺一般的。 |

，比较有CREDIBILITY），说美东时间晚上11点O'BRIEN和PSU领导层的会议结束了，O'
BRIEN获得了他想要的东西。
言下之意是O'BRIEN可能会STAY。
我彻底晕了，现在谁也不信了！

起来2个MILLION了，对于他的资历来说，不算差。
如果2012PSU的成绩良好，比如7胜或8胜，我不觉得O'BRIEN有明显的跳板去更好地地方

O'BRIEN未来这一周基本都会在南方度过。他明天会去孟菲斯，要去正式OFFER一个2015
年的OL和一个2014年的WR。
OFFER 2015年的OL很正常，但OFFER一个2014年的WR多少让我狮的扇子有点奇怪，因为
在2014的CLASS里，WR这个位置是我狮招生最成功的，两个想搞的孩子都在很早的时候
就搞到手了，现在为什么还要给WR发OFFER。
首先，要收到OFFER的这个WR是来自MEMPHIS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL的DEVIN PERRY，在
RIVALS是三星，在SCOUT是两星，不算大星星，但是OFFER LIST却比较IMPRESSIVE，包
括田纳西、密苏里、LOUISVILLE等。
我想O'BRIEN有两个考虑，一是现在手上还有7个奖学金可以发，不发白不发。二是要向
南方进军，去SEC的地盘抢点人过来。呵呵~~~ |

PROSPECT，但因为成绩不行，我狮没有招他，所以他去了MILFORD ACADEMY，学习过关
了，今年就来了。
WRIGHT身高6尺7，不算大星星，但打的位置却是我狮现在很缺人的OL，所以这个
COMMITMENT还是令人欣喜的。
当然，最受人关注的还是他是在O'BRIEN去NFL的谣言满天飞的情况下COMMIT的，他也披

只有一点：提高PSU在FOOTBALL方面的BUDGET以及尽快确定相关领导人员，具体包括以
下几天：
（1）提高在RECRUITING上的BUDGET，达到和他盖及他密同样的水平；
（2）提高ASSISTANT COACHES的薪酬；
（3）尽快确定AD，现在的AD仍然不算正式的；
（4）尽快确定体育市场部门的领导人，这个位置空缺已经6个月了。

之说？起码是没有战绩的压力。
O'BRIEN骨子里就是想当NFL教练，去年就INTERVIEW了NFL球队，只是没拿到OFFER，因
为19个MILLION的BUY-OUT太厉害了，今年拿到OFFER了，而且他觉得HOUSTON还是有希望
的，所以就JUMP了。
现在回头看看，刚干了一年就INTERVIEW NFL，留下来只是因为没办法去；第二年又
INTERVIEW，一拿到OFFER立刻JUMP，心里想要什么看的很清楚了。
当然，他在PSU的两年干的的确很好，这一点要肯定。但最后的离开伤人心啊。想想
HACK他们那些孩子，在那么特殊的情况下跟着他来到我狮，现在会怎么想。 |

我们的CAMPUS挖人，守在教室外面等着作球员的思想工作，被传为“美谈”。SILAS
REDD这样的明星球员转学到USC是各大体育网站的头条消息。着实热闹了一阵。
2012的PSU最后8-4，获得了不少称赞，O'BRIEN拿到了最重要的几个COY奖，整个
PROGRAM也慢慢稳定下来了。虽然NCAA有一条荒唐无比的2年FREE TRANSFER的惩罚规定
，但今年没有太多核心球员考虑TRANSFER。刚提出转学的QB STEVE BENCH是第一个，具
